Had the Meat Lovers Omelet and it was great everything was cooked right place was clean and I was very impressed

Food was ok I guess. My fries were cold and over cooked. My ladies salad was very small for the price. The fry sauce was runny like it was watered down. Our waitress was unprofessional. She was rubbing her eyes and complained that she was tired. The fake plants and curly Q streamers hanging from the wall were very tacky. When we were walking out to the car after our unfortunate meal I saw the cooks which were very dirty and scummy dealing drugs ro the other cook. We will never go back there again

My fiance and I were in the area so she could attend a business function and we had missed lunch were short on time to get back to our neck of the woods an hour north to fest rhe kids ftom school and both of us wanted something we could quickly grab snd eat on the run. She asked if I had ever eaten at the Wayback Cafe and when I said no her face lit up and she claimed they had the best mozzarella sticks on the planet. Seeing as we were in a rush I called ahead hoping to place a togo order not knowing the restaurant was right around the corner. We pulled in and I questioned if we would be late getting the kids and she giggled and ran inside not answering my question so I loyally followed feeling a bit stressed. She ran to the counter playing the order and explained our hunger and the race against the clock to get our 3 boys. The girl 2hk took the order hollered at crew cooking walked off to a table and came right bagk to the kit2chen window and right there were 2 full orders of mozzarella sticks ready. She quickly boxed them and handed them over to us telling us to get moving. All this happened in under 2 minutes and I'm talking from entering to exiting. I was completely impressed and those mozzarella sticks were to die for. None will ever compare again. The staff were impressive and the people whose table she spoke to obviously gave up their dine in order I wish I could thank and we made it to the boys right on time. Eating at Wayward Cafe gets a full recommendation from us.

Great place to eat great staff good food wonderful experience

Service was disappointing this last time around. Sounded like my waitresses nose kept running, they forgot my soup and looked at me like I was stupid and irritating them when I asked for some jelly an extra plate for my 3-year-olds food and if they butter their corn. My 3 year old was showing the waitress a butter knife and she kept asking ( what, what's wrong with it, is there something wrong with it)
I had to tell her she's just showing you the butter knife.

The place is so cute with 50s’ themed decor and service it great. Even better the food is home cooked and always delicious and reasonably priced. Will be coming here a lot!

I haven't been to this place since I was 7, but it was just as good as I remember. I loved the waitresses outfits and the vintage look of the restaurant is amazing. The food tasted amazing.

Had chicken fried steak special. More than enough to eat. Mistake made on one order of gravy. Waitress offered to redo. We.passed. Not a big issue. Otherwise great meal and service.

Loved this very nostalgic place! The food was amazing! The malts were so incredible that I'll be going there again! Just like mom would have eaten back in the 50s ❤
