The coffee drinks and the breakfast sandwich we had taste great

I love this local place for coffee. They have great fresh baked goods and teas too. But what keeps me returning is the friendliness of the staff and tasty new drinks each month!

Only drive through at the moment, but service is quick.
We all enjoyed our drinks... Nitro cold brews and cafe latte.
There are a couple of tables in back where you can sit and enjoy.
Situated in Abrams new shopping center.

Tricked us into buying something for 'Free Spectrum internet' which was only a.30 minute trial and furthermore is not owned by kohala Coffee company... They also have a sign inside that says 'best coffee in puna voted by the people of puna' and when I asked about this sign they said one of their moms made it. I have gotten coffee here before and I voted the worst coffee I've ever had in my entire life. Having a sign hanging up in the lobby saying it's the best coffee in punta voted by the people of puna is just a straight lie when I tried to contact the company they do not have a phone number just an email. I will never be going there again we should all boycott kohala Coffee company because we already have the Tin shack and we already have Sirius Coffee we don't need another s***** coffee shop in Pahoa... Support local coffee business not s***** kohala business

I go to Kohala Coffee very often, and there has never been a time where I was dissatisfied. The staff is super super friendly! In all honesty and in my opinion, I’d rather stop at Kohala Coffee and get my coffee fix instead of Starbucks. I’d give this place 100 stars if I could.

Great selection and nice service! I got a breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Good bagels and all around great place to go in the morning. Good coffee too.

The coconut milk latter was not good - the foam was too porous and it tasted too sweet (maybe they use the coconut milk that has added sugar). They had cool pins (5 for $10).

Exceptional Coffee here!! Hubby got iced White Mocha with whip and I got Cold brew nitro with cream & liquid sugar!! 2 of our faves😋😋

Update: I just got the WORST bagel ever. We're I to guess what happened is day sooner one microwaved a previously toasted bagel. My jaw muscles are literally hurting from trying to chew it. As usual the coffee was weak and scalding hot, but this bagel thing is just over the top. Dropping my rating again.

The coffee is really weak, a bit like Dennys coffee.

Ice coffee and espresso is often poured straight over the ice. Not so bad with the espresso, but the ice coffee is just REALLY watered down coffee with a few melted ice cubes.

The espresso drinks are hit and miss. Wife and I recently got mochas, hers was to sweet to drink and mine was bland and tepid.

Breakfast sammies are pretty meh as well. They often seem microwaved beyond reason. Baked good gets rubbery and the scalding hot cheese (a bit excessive) is flowing out of the sandwich, leaving more cheese on the wrapper than in the sandwich.

They could really benefit from a better quality coffee and hiring someone with experience to train their crew.

The staff are super sweet and the coffee's not that bad. But the sandwich I ordered should have had ham and didn't....also it wasn't fully warmed up and was cold except for the edges :/
