If you're into upcountry experiences, make sure you plan a stop at Maui Bees. This delightful oasis makes a perfect break from any busy sightseeing itinerary. The staff here are friendly, welcoming, and they made it easy for us to hang out, take a breather, and enjoy the scenery. They grow all the produce for sale in the little open-air shop where you can also get coffee, tea, and delicious "Jun on Tap" made with local ingredients. The little bee museum is delightful and free, and you can also book bee tours in advance (I think on Fridays and Saturdays, but check ahead). It's also only minutes away from Grandma's Coffee House and Kula Bistro and they also have a clean and comfortable restroom.
Everyone should do this tour.... Absolutely beautiful space with a very grounding much-needed perspective on how important and magical bees are. Just the perfect amount of necessary facts and information to make your head spin like how much a bee produces in one lifetime and what it means when you eat one teaspoon of honey... Loved our guide and loved the experience and came out feeling inspired to try and help make a change and make smart purchasing decisions as well as how to potentially start a rooftop hive:)
Loved it!! Been following them on Instagram for a while now and was finally able to visit! It’s a great farm they have and great community outreach! Super friendly people, knowledgeable staff and great fresh air! Got to taste the 3 different types of honey, summer, winter, and macadamia nut. Winter was my favorite but Mac nut was unique! All wonderful flavors!
We were touring Maui Upcountry, checking out different farms, and decided to pop into Maui Bees to add some honey to our collection of delicious local goods.
We're pleasantly surprised to find that their farm stand, in addition to selling awesome product from other local farms, also sold lunch with outdoor seating and stunning views of Maui.
We shared an amazing focaccia piled high with perfectly roasted cauliflower, lathered with cauliflower puree and goat cheese, topped with a perfect fried egg. Wow! One of the best bites of our entire vacation! It was so good that I have to assume everything else is amazing from what I imagine is a regularly changing fresh menu.
I am somewhat embarrassed to say that I can't speak very much to the bees, workshops, or the honey in general. But if you're in the area, make sure to stop here for a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting!
2023 Feb Update - farm-to-table dinner experience continues to be exceptional. Scott London prepared an outstanding multi course dinner that left us amazed once again 😉
2022 Jan update….incredible dinner experience. Best “Maui Experience” we’ve had. 6 course dinner outside using ALL on-site ingredients! Scott - chef ✅✅✅✅✅ Ashley - hostess ✅✅✅✅✅ Mark - beekeeper ✅✅✅✅✅
Recommend this experience to anyone on the island 🏝. Wow - the flavours, variety, setting, stories and education are amazing. We’ll be talking about it for years. See pics.
We stopped in on our bikes for what turned out to be the most amazing lunch! Staff love what they do and it shows.
We are on Maui and I wanted to share with the group the most incredible experience we did tonight!! Mauibeeshoney awesome Farm to Table dinner!! It was the best local experience. We got a tour of the farm, a brief and informative lesson in honey bees and then an expertly crafted, one of a kind 7 course farm to table dinner!! Chef Scott London and our server/ tour guide Frankie we’re 10 out of 10!!
Today, was a big day. I stepped out of my comfort zone (home) to take the kids on an educational excursion. Maui Bees farm has several options. We decided to do the farm tour. We paid $25 for adults and $10 per child. Totally worth it! And happy to support local! 🙏🏼🙌🏼 Jackson brought his note pad and took notes about the bees to later write up a report. Wai was obsessed with the farm dogs. They both were so happy to be outdoors, exploring, learning, and doing something new. We learned a lot, got to visit with all kinds of animals, and the tour ended with a honey tasting. Thank you Mark for the wonderful educational tour!
They also have a farm stand that I frequent weekly for fresh produce and to buy local honey (which is delicious). Brand new today were LILIKOI meringue cookies... holy moly, they are gone. Sorry hubs. 🤷🏻♀️
If you’re looking for a fun outing with the kids. This was great. Check out @mauibeeshoney for more information. They also sell Maui Bees honey at @foodlandhi for those of you that can’t make it up to the farm! #EatLocalToday #SupportLocal
We absolutely loved the regenerative farm tour with farm owner Mark. We got to experience the new bee museum which allows a peak into the busy bee live and learned the inspiring story of how bees organize themselves plus we saw the queen! Continuing on the farm, we are so inspired by the way food is grown for people and planet. It’s a great environment and example of how we can use agriculture for positive change. Mark will answer all questions and you will leave the place feeling energized. We had super tasty farm fresh food after the tour, the eggs from the happy chickens are absolutely the best eggs we ever had. If you want to do something special while on Maui, don’t miss out on this place and take one of the tours to get the behind the scenes insights.
On a bike ride down Haleakala, we decided to take a detour to Maui Bees. This farm was incredible! They grow a variety of produce and make their own honey. In addition to those tasty offerings, the property is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. We were given a tour by Kyle and it was evident he is passionate about his work on the farm. Make sure to stop by and check out their offerings!
