(this review relates to the diner only, not the motel)
We came by Kula Sandalwoods by chance, after missing the end of the breakfast shift in the nearby highly reviewed Kula Lodge, on our way back from Haleakala crater sunrise trip. The diner wasn't much to look at - no decor and completely deserted (the unusual hour, 11am, could've been accountable for the latter), so our expectations weren't set high. However we were pleasantly surprised. In the middle of notoriously expensive Maui we were able to get a delicious and nourishing breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids for $55. The hot cakes with roasted macadamia nuts and the breakfast sandwich were especially good. The only downside was a slight smell of dish soap coming out of the glasses. On the whole, reasonably priced and satisfying breakfast.

We not only stayed at the cottage for two nights, we also had breakfast at the cafe. The food was delicious, the service was friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. There were many local people dining at the cafe on Saturday morning.

Great place for breakfast coming down from Haleakala. Reasonable prices for Maui and a good environment inside with outside seating also available looking down at the valley and over at the West Maui Mountains. Would definitely come back whenever I find myself on this side of the island.

Love this place. I always eat breakfast after going up Haleakala to watch the sunrise. This location offer friendlier service than Kula Lounge and quicker service with only one person manning the restaurant. The food is always excellent and I highly recommend this restaurant.

The perfect stop when visiting Haleakala National Park or the Upcountry Kula area. The Eggs Benedict is the best and the hollandaise sauce was just perfection. The hot-cakes with macadamia nuts were light and fluffy, but substantially filling. Clean, friendly and relaxing after an early morning at Haleakala for sunrise. Lovely experience.

Lets start with the positive the eggs benedict was good. And the negative.. Had to wait an hour after we ordered to get our food and with little children that is asking for trouble. The Open faced omelette was not that good. They added gratuity right on the bill when they should have only gotten a quarter of what they added. Wouldnt bother again.

Had a wonderful breakfast and cup of coffee after watching the sunrise from the summit. Warm fireplace greated the 49* morning. The homegrown orange slices were delicious.
