The guy who served us overheard that we were planning on doing the Road to Hana, and completely unprompted gave us a recommendation for a less crowded spot to visit, even taking into account the fact that our grandmother was with us and therefore wouldn't be able to do any strenuous hiking. Excited to see it!!

Nice roadside cafe on the road to Hana/Haleakala. My wife loved her coffee; I enjoyed my cherry cheesecake and lemonade.
It's a real family-owned business with lots of history, not a run of the mill, some a dozen chain.

This place serves wonderful breakfasts, with a wide variety of items to choose from. Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. You can find sweet or savory breakfast foods, great coffee, or tea.
There is limited seating, but you can order your food to go and head to a nearby park to enjoy!
I also loved that this place is very eco-focused. Their containers and utensils are all compostable!
And of course we got a loaf of banana bread to go for a sweet treat later in the day!

Maybe we were just unlucky, but the service was SUPER SLOW for us, we've never had to wait that long in any restaurant before. Ordered 4 items and got 2 of them(which needed to be cooked) in reasonable time, the other 2 which were supposed to be quick never came until we asked, apparently they forgot about them. It's very frustrating when you are very hungry and have to wait forever for a simple ham and cheese sandwich. Food was good, employees were polite, but if you're super hungry, try somewhere else. For us it didn't worth the extra 20 minutes detour to get food there.

Loved this little coffee house in upcountry! Such good food and great views from the deck.

Had a breakfast bagel sandwich. It was delicious.
Also got a pecan pie bar, which was amazing.
Picked up a pack of their espresso roast coffee beans. Very good.

Used to be a sweet spot, unfortunately it’s just not anymore… the past few times we have gone our food has been subpar, this time our order was completely forgotten and service is terrible, food is overpriced. The place feels dirty and run down. Overall just feels like they don’t care, enough tourist come and will pay for anything. not good. Bummer.

Great pit stop on the way to Hana highway! local, fresh, yummy, and super nice people. Very cute terrace with views to the island.

I wouldn't have shared my breakfast if I knew it's amazing!!! Don't share buy everything and take goodies to go. Amazing place but be ready to wait. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
