Located in the coffee country south of Kailua Kona, the Coffee Shack is a restaurant that offers breathtaking views of Kealakekua Bay and Mauna Loa volcano. The food, especially breakfast, is excellent, and the coffee is strong and delicious. Additionally, you'll find many little geckos that love to lick jam on the railings. However, the downside of the location is the parking, which can be terrible. To secure a spot, it's best to arrive when the restaurant opens. If you arrive later in the morning, you may need to wait for someone to leave to find a parking space. Remember, the parking situation is not ideal, so arriving early is crucial. Finally, don't forget to check out the specials board.

Nice little spot with a gorgeous view! The cute little geckos come straight up the side of the building and hang out! If you have a larger party there is going to be a bit of a wait. Food was great and the service was good. The parking was the only real issue since it’s so small.

The views at The Coffee Shack are incredible. Parking is very limited. They probably have enough spots for one car per table but no extra for people waiting. I got the eggs Benedict and they were pretty good. I liked the breakfast potatoes a lot. We also got a cookie and a piece of coconut pound cake to go. The cookie was just ok but i thought the pound cake was very good! I also had an iced caramel latte. It was stronger than I'm used to, but good. 👍 👍

Amazing service!! Food was tasty. My coffee was never empty and our water was topped up constantly. The server had a to-go coffee cup made up for me without me even asking! The views were stunning! A must-stop place if you're in the area!!

This place is so popular, but it is so well deserved! The food is delicious, the staff is always happy, friendly, quick, and the views are fantastic. Must stop in my opinion! We had the papaya special, so yum! Please make a stop here, you won’t be disappointed!

Incredible ocean views, delicious meals all day (not just coffee!), homemade bread is fantastic, great coffee (grown right there), service was friendly and quick even during a super busy time, their wait-list system tells you online where you are in line and they have WiFi. We ate here two days in a row and would have come everyday if we'd have found it sooner. Definitely my favorite restaurant on this side of the island, can't wait to return!

You cannot go wrong here! The food, service, and views are not to be missed! Go early as they are busy. We went twice on a 3 day trip to Captain Cook because it was that good!

Gorgeous views. Food was beautifully presented and was flavorful. Staff is friendly and professional. Definitely recommend it

The view alone was worth the 45 minute wait, then our food arrived and it was delicious! To top it off our server was one of the sweetest people we met on the Island. We had a wonderful time here! Mahalo!
