Grassroots Coffee

Pretty nice coffee shop. Quaint storefront, excellent service. Wish it was a little less busy.

We loved Grassroots! Our family met up here and had a great time drinking delicious coffee in a really cool place. We all took home a hand thrown mug and a few bags of the coffee to drink at home. Tip: you get a free cup of drip coffee when you buy a bag of coffee.

Excellent mocha! Strong and chocolate just like I like it. Great service and quick.

Great local atmosphere right in downtown. Very friendly. Every walk of life was coming through the door; crunchy twenty-somethings, bankers, amigos, locals young and old. Creaky wooden floors, painted tin ceiling, several groups of folks that look like regulars; just what we wanted. I wish the brewed coffee was stronger (not darker, but brewed with more grounds), but that's just a preference. I went back and bought an espresso shot to add to it and it was fine. Every downtown needs a place like this. A real asset to their community.

While I enjoy the nostalgia I get from walking into grassroots, management needs to keep a closer eye on the afternoon staff. They are not paying close attention to order tickets and are flat out making drinks wrong. 4 out of 5 times my frappe was not blended enough and forgetting to add whip(which is not free). They are either not putting enough syrup or to much espresso in the lattes I get. Grassroots has been an institution in downtown thomasville but there seems to be a developing lack of care.

The staff has been so unwelcoming and unfriendly the last 3 times I have been here. I stood at the counter waiting to order while the girl at the register ignored us and had clearly seen us but continued to want to talk to her friend while facing us. Once she finally decided to take our order it seemed like we were an inconvenience and she didn’t say a word during the whole transaction. We tipped anyways because that’s just what we do either way in hopes they at least appreciate that. Then to make things worse, all 3 drinks we ordered were wrong but since we had already had a bad experience with service we just decided to take them and leave (I believe a frappe is supposed to have ice not be milk in liquid form, ice cubes would have been close enough if they didn’t know how to make it) I used to love coming to this place but I don’t find it worth coming to anymore. We live 2 1/2 hours away and make the effort to come here because sit was once enjoyable.

I have been trying for two weeks in a row to get a White Mocha Blended. Everytime I went they had ran out of ice cream. I was disappointed. I called today and they had some. When I walked in the young man said mam we have your ice cream. I was super excited. I will say they went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I will be back.

Whenever I find myself in Thomasville, I have to stop in for a quick bite and a coffee. Great staff & food that is fresh and tastes good.

I used to love going here for coffee, even met my significant other here. Its a shame to see what this company has become, and to hear first hand how they are treating their workers. An absolute shame that ALL of their workers are underpaid and overworked. They say they "treat their workers like family", but they are unwilling to listen to any of the feedback given to them - and like an abusive parent - shut down the ones who decide to speak up for their own well being.

To those who still support this company that does nothing for their workers, don't. (Unless you support the exploitation of workers and management who doesn't give a rat's a** about their employees)

And to those who are still working here and dealing with management that doesn't care about you - there are much better places to work with higher pay, less stress, and who show more appreciation to their workers.

The best coffee and breakfast shop. I love going there drink, eat and read my Bible
