Del Sur

Got here at 7pm and were seated right away (party of two). Food was great (I'm a vegetarian and got the veggie tacos). Their blackberry mojito was amazing!

Good college place for the kiddos. Tacos good but not spectacular. Server was great.

Food was pretty good. (Ordered smothered burrito and Mahi taco). Server (Kevin) was great; very pleasant and attentive.
Only thing I would improve on was the chips and salsa was brought as soon as I sat down, yet I was charged $0.70 for them. While this isn’t a major issue as far as cost is concerned (on a $30-35 tab), if you are going to charge for them on a table of 1 person, you should ask if they want them. (Just a recommendation). But overall, I’d definitely visit this place again while in the area.

Came back a second time while the next day and I’ll edit from 4 stars to 2. I would avoid the restaurant after the rain. It smells rough inside both days, so the recommendation would be to sit outside. However, I’ve never had a patio with as big a gnat problem as this one. (Including those right off the beach/ lake/etc…..constant body of water). While you can only do so much and I understand that, I killed probably 10 gnats at the table and spent the last half of the meal swatting them away every 10 seconds because it was so insanely bad.

Plus, on two trips I’ve noticed that the prices are extremely inconsistent. And if you see any specials on their menu, make sure to point it out, as they will charge you full price if not mentioned. I helped run a restaurant for 7 years in another state, and if we offered a “daily special”, we charged everyone that regardless if they acknowledged it or not. (I did and that’s on me for not ordering it as “the special”, but guess I’ve been spoiled at [literally every other restaurant in the US]).After the two visits, I probably won’t return next time I’m in the area.

Loved the food and service!! Will definitely be going back. Statesboro upped its game with this unexpected gem. 🙌🏽

The first time I visited Del Sur after moving to Statesboro, I had high hopes based on recommendations from friends. I was very disappointed.I ordered the fajitas and they came out in a small cast iron bowl-like thing that they were clearly not cooked in. They were cold and covered in cheese that wasn’t even remotely melted. That experience put a literal bad taste in my mouth. After three years, I decided to go back tonight and give them another shot—disappointed again. The salsa that everyone raves about was so bitter it was nearly inedible—I suspect that the lime juice was old. I ordered the blackened shrimp salad this time. Guess what? Cold again and the “blackening” was a joke. Overall, I’ve been extremely dissatisfied with this restaurant. Everything I’ve had has been either under seasoned or seasoned in a strange way—like the sweet tortilla chips they bring out with the bitter salsa. The only reason I give them more than one star is because the atmosphere is fun and the servers are very friendly and attentive. I have heard that their tacos are good but I certainly can’t recommend this place to anyone based on the experiences I’ve had.

We thought it was great! Good food variety, unique foods, the guacamole was delicious.... We had the sweetest waitress who was on top of her game. Looking around... The place was packed, all the waitresses seemed enthusiastic and genuinely enjoying their job. Outstanding restaurant! I live out of town, but will definitely return to Del Sur!!

dalton took us here because he used to use their bathroom in between classes. sneaky corn hole out front. Shoutout maddie for the taco-tastic experience. fyi, the ear pieces are the staff to talk to one another. chips stacked high as the eye can see. Go eagles. dixie described the salsa as slightly too viscous, but still chill. will we be back? Next question.

Great food, Great Drinks, Great Service, and an amazing atmosphere!
Highly recommend you stop here next time your around and if you are in town on Saturday or Sunday morning, you have to try their Brunch menu!
10/10 recommend you give them a try if you haven’t already.

I’m going to be as nice as possible here. I drove out to Statesboro for an appointment and I wanted to try someplace new for lunch since I rarely come out to this area. I had hopes for some decent food and I definitely picked the wrong place. On the plus side, the staff was very nice, and even with an ongoing remodel and road construction going on all around, it was a nice setup. The food however, was what I would describe as a Champion of Mediocrity. A quick look at the menu online had me interested in the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla that included a pineapple relish. Sounded good. I was ordering it to go and I was asked if I wanted my quesadilla “all the way.” Now, I suppose I could have asked exactly what that meant, because in the end, it was just a very basic, thin quesadilla with nothing extra like sour cream or whatever one would expect. The flavor was not bad, but then it just turned into disappointment. I got some chips and guac on the side, which included salsa, and I have to say that all three paired well with the quesadilla. To clarify, also disappointing. It was without a doubt the most mediocre guacamole I have ever had. Not good, not terrible, just, blah. I honestly hoped that the salsa would save the day. As Arnold would say…no chance. Five stars for service, two stars for food. $15 not well spent. Couldn’t bring myself to take a picture of the quesadilla because it would just inspire a deep sadness.
