All are excellent! Very friendly staff. And amazing food. We need to wait a little bit to get seated but it was worth.

Great food! Tried the Rueben and the potato pancakes.
Also, their cake is amazing. I got 3 different pieces and they were gone before I could take a picture of them for this review. 👍

Heard great things about the food here so we wanted to stop here and check it out.

However we waited 30 minutes in line, and never made it inside the building.
The line never moved, so after 30 minutes we left.

One thing that was irritating, was that the employees kept coming out and reminding us that if we went anywhere else,that we could not park in their lot and would have to move before we left.
I get that, but the constant reminding when we haven't even made it inside yet was irksome.
They had one of the employees matching up people waiting, with the vehicles in the lot...

Me and my husband came here 3 times when we were staying in Helen and every-time but the last was delicious food. I ordered hash browns with 2 over medium eggs. The eggs were two runny for me. The white wasn’t cooked and was all over my plate. All I asked was for the cook to throw the eggs back on the grill for a minute and he refused to our waitress. Our waitress even tried to get him to cook me two new eggs and he still said he wasn’t doing it. Our waitress tried everything she could and eventually I told her it was ok but didn’t end up eating most of my food. Something that could have been easily fixed and would have made me happy and leaving full. Was disappointed the manager didn’t help our waitress out because everyone of the waitress we had were sweethearts and so nice. Great job on Their part but looks like you need a cook that wants to cook as crazy as that sounds and that’s why I took away one star. Left a picture of one of our breakfast there and the pastry’s were absolutely delicious!

I've been coming here since 1997 with family & friends. What a delight seeing that it's still doing so great after the 2021 pandemic. It's such a joy seeing familiar faces like Marba. The food is even better than before, prices are very reasonable, service impeccable, & cleanliness on point. I love that they keep the German food tradition alive. They never disappoint! Thank you for remaining opened & may you have more successful years ahead. 🙏

A delicious traditional German breakfast can be had in the north Georgia mountain town of Helen. Wonderful preserves, fresh baked breads, cookies, pies, cakes, eclairs, cream puffs, muffins and more are available and extremely fresh. Oh and the best fresh brewed coffee. Don't miss Hofer's.

If you do not want to stand in line too long, get there a little before they open. We were the 5th party to be seated and the wait was miminal, but the line behind us went down the sidewalk.
I got the bacon, onion and cheese hash. It was decent but not overwhelming Amazing. Service was quick, in fact so quick we didn't even have a chance to look at the menu before our waitress asked us for our order. Haha.

It's a small space, only 13 tables inside so be prepared to be in line for awhile.

There was a little bit of a wait when we first got here, but after the experience, you can tell why people like it so much. The food was outstanding the service was great.

Had the french toast, it was delicious! Got there about about 7 minutes before opening and was seated in the first wave. Staff was very friendly and attentive, would definitely recommend this place for breakfast and probably lunch 😍

We had a bit of a wait for 4 people, but I was expecting that based off other reviews, and it was completely worth it! Everyone loved their food and our waitress was PHENOMENAL!
