Hofer's Bakery and Cafe

This was the best spot in Helen, if you want to get breakfast get there before 9 AM to avoid the line. Great imports, the pastries and cakes are just like in Germany, the breakfast was five stars, and Barbara, our waitress is a darling - we will be back for sure!

We showed up around 4:30 and unfortunately they had already started packing up their bakery items. So the case was almost empty of fresh baked goods. They had a lot of chocolate and other German candy bars available to buy. Most of it is in German. We blindly bought candy (on purpose). And so far it has all been good. Would try again next time I’m in town at a earlier time. We went on a Tuesday in October.

Wonderful breakfast spot. The seating is limited so plan ahead. The staff is friendly and the food is great. As close to Bavarian German food as you can find outside of Germany. Don't forget to try the bakery while you are there.

Don’t forget to stop here (we couldn’t have breakfast, it was busy… reallyyy busy). We got some pastries 🥮 to take home (good thing that we are way apart from here, because this is dangerously delicious 🤤)… the cream puffs are yummylicious, the cream cheese/blueberry danish, apple strudel… go in and get sweet 😉

This place is best for breakfast. Their cafe has classic look and seating arrangements. Make sure to reach ahead of time because the wait time is 45 minutes minimum. We order their farm omelette and hofer’s morning delight with chocolate milkshake. The food was hot and delicious. Don’t forget to try their cake slices and fresh bakery breads. Definitely to go place. Also they have ample parking spot behind the restaurant

I visited Hofer’s for the first time a great place to get fresh baked items and an array of goodies to take home. I got chocolate and marzipan squares how delicious and the jam ti die for absolutely love going to Hofer’s.

I've eaten here 3 times over the years and it never disappoints!! Whether you are getting breakfast or lunch, or ordering fresh German deli and bakery goods you will likely encounter a line only because everything is so good! Well worth the wait! Wunderbar!

The cutest little cafe we have found here in Helen. Breakfast was so good! The bakery had lots of options to look at and deli was interesting to look around at. They have a gift shop to buy jams, chocolates and seasonings etc. We looked around before being seated. I recommend grabbing a cappuccino before they bring you your food! English Toffee Cappuccino was soooo good. If you are debating whether or not to visit here…don’t! Just go! It’s very worth it.

Was hoping to get into the restaurant, but being Memorial Day weekend, it was not happening. But we did get some of their bakery items. They were absolutely delicious!

Absolutely amazing food, haven't been here in over a decade and the food was just as amazing as it was last time. Definitely worth the line, get a bit of temptation from all the sweets while you wait, and once you're done you have a wonderful place to wander around while you digest all the delicious food.
