Rum Cake Lady Cuban Food Downtown Blue Ridge

Alright, let me be real here. I'm leaving a five star on this joint for the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban alone.

It's a little roadside shack set a block off downtown Blue Ridge, so the service and atmosphere are minimal. Walk-up counter to order and served from a window, but the people were nice. No inside seating, but the covered deck is plenty comfortable. It serves the greater purpose that is...

...the sandwich. Oh my God it was good. The homemade mojo pork is some of the best I've had, and I've been all around Florida to the supposed "best Cuban sandwich" shops. This is the best by far. Perfect balance of pork, ham, swiss, mustard, and pickles, as God intended. Bread was nice and they got a nice crust on the outside when they pressed it. Just eat it.

I also tried the salted caramel rum cake, which was pretty good. Super moist as you'd expect for a rum-soaked sponge. Didn't taste much of alcohol, but definitely had a subtle rum flavor. A little pricey, but if you're a dessert person, you'll like it. They of course have espresso too, but I didn't get one.

NOW GET OFF THE INTERNET AND GET THE SANDWICH DARN IT.

The best Cuban food in 80 mile radius.
It's super fresh. Felt like we were back home in Ft Lauderdale /Miami. Excited to finally find excellent local food. We had the Cuban sandwich, we tried all the empanadas, and of course the lemon rum cake.

Foods pretty good but not authentic. Had two steak sandwiches and a kids cheese and ham sandwich. Definitely over priced though. 50 bucks. As a south floridian cuban, the wait time is not typical of that of a Cuban place at home and price is spiked. So visitors be aware, this isn't your 5 minute 8 buck sandwich kind of joint like in South Florida.

Look lady, miami is a busy city. It never sleeps. Blame it on a holiday or whatever but I'm sorry this might have offended you personally which clearly shows lack ownership to criticism. You response shows a lot.

The Best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. We ate here twice in the 5 days we spent in the area. ❤️ the green sauce is so good.

A hidden gem! Doesn't look like much, but a rich heritage in making Cuban food and - rum cakes! Had a fantastic Cuban for lunch - best ever - and a turkey Cubano. Golden rum cake to die for. Make this a stop.

Wow! So so yum! Everything was delicious and so flavorful! The absolute BEST guava and cheese pastry I’ve ever had. Go here! The end.

Incredible little spot in Blue Ridge. Great variety and absolutely delicious. Rum cakes are to die for and probably the best Cuban I’ve had in Georgia. Highly recommend.

Excellent food. read many good reviews and my husband loves Cuban food. We ordered the chicken empanada for one son, ham and cheese for other son. They both enjoyed their food; son asked for a second empanada but this was his second lunch and we were already over budget from our shopping spree at Mercier Orchards. Husband was so excited about Iron Beer soda (no alcohol despite the name). Bought a second can since son enjoyed Iron Beer too. Hubby and I ordered the Cuban and the Midnight (basically same filling, different bread) and we swapped halves since we couldn't decide. We all enjoyed our meal. They don't have a public bathroom. Some indoor air conditioned seating. There is outdoor seating under a carport with a ceiling fan. Some seating in the sun. We had a great experience. Oh! I also had the guava & cheese pastry. My son took the best bite and left me very little guava. I would have liked a little more filling...or a not so greedy son. ☺️ We only regret not ordering a Cuban coffee to go, but it was 85 degrees and didn't think about it until we were halfway home.

This place is a must if you are looking for delicious Cuban sandwiches or amazing rum cakes and warm friendly people. Even if you are just passing through, you should stop in and grab a delicious empanada or tamale. We tried nearly everything and it was all delicious. The only thing I can complain about is that it's so far from home. We'll definitely return!

I've driven by this establishment many times over the years, but never stopped. I recently read a review that said the food was excellent and not to miss it

OMG!

The spinach & cheese empanada AND the Cuban sandwich were absolutely AMAZING! This will definitely be a must-have our next time in Blue Ridge. I bought a mini-bundt rum cake, too, but that's being brought home for my Mom's 88th birthday. 🥳🎉
