Café Intermezzo - Avalon

As always cakes were delicious. Service was good except a mistake as giving me a bill that was not ours. Once that was sorted out, everything was good.

I wanted to enjoy this place as I do the location in Midtown, but not this time.
I’d try it again though.

It’s a very tiny place and on this day it was rainy so outside option wasn’t available.

The service was just okay - the server didn’t seem prepared to share the daily specials and didn’t have many answers to our questions on the menu. She had too much delay coming back to table to take order or follow up on questions.

The food was mediocre …. The pasta for me was okay -more sauce than I prefer and it is spicy as described.
The coffee drink I ordered was just okay as well.

This is a WOW little place to go! This was my first time and I recommend this place! Sean was our waiter and he was very nice and helpful. I asked what cold coffee with liquor he recommended and he offered me the Cafe Dolce Vita on Ice which I LOVED! My wife got a slice of cake and I got their waffle with strawberries and ice cream. This is the BEST waffle I’ve ever ate.

Price is not bad. We spent like $50 plus tip on coffee and dessert only but it was worth it because of the experience.

Was told I had to wait 20-25 minutes for a table and 2 people who came after I did were seated before me. When I inquired about the wait time I was told I was 2nd on the list and at the same time another hostess was saying that she would seat us now. While waiting for our table a large party that came in after me was seated immediately. LEFT WITHOUT ORDERING ANYTHING BECAUSE OF THIS

Visited with a few friends for a cup of coffee and tasty food. Does not disappoint, I would highly recommend this place for brunch or for some occasional get to get her with friends.

The atmosphere is usually warm and cozy, and the staffs and services are super great. I got one of their chocolate alcoholic drinks with a mint taste to it and it was the best decision ever. The crepe we got tasted very good as well.

I ordered a slice of cake, and the proportion looked like they were trying ration for the world war. The ATL location gives much bigger slices and the staff is a lot more pleasant.

When I questioned the quantity I received, the lady was extremely rude.

I was between 3 & 4 stars but rating as a parent going with a group. I think going as a couple or with adults would have been different so I’m keeping in mind what this restaurant wants to project versus what we brought ‘to the table’ persay.

We waited for the whole group (10 including 3 kids) but glad to have a cool outdoor space for kids to run. The restaurant was chosen by a couple who lives in Avalon with their baby... but I don’t think it’s made for large groups as they probably want intimacy in this type of cafe. We were squeezed in back around two circular tables. I am glad they had a kids menu and crayons. I appreciated two sides to their entree including fruit choices. We tried to keep it down but I could tell between talking across table and a preschooler we were bothering other tables by their glances to us (sorry patrons!)

Great coffee menu ! The server was friendly and helpful. I went with the ham and cheese crepe. It wasn’t the best crepe I’ve ever had and a bit on heavy side with cheese and sauce. I wouldn’t get that again.

Based on how they tried to accommodate us, I’ll give 4 stars based on coffee and service. 3 stars for food. Don’t recommend for groups or small kids!

Love, love, love this place. Great food. Try the squash ravioli al pesto and add a protein. I added a crab cake. Also, can't go wrong with the seafood crepe. Ohh.. Have a margarita too!

Had been here multiple times! they serve coffee almost cold!! I don’t understand how they cannot manage to bring it when it is hot!! The attitude of the people there is another issue. You go to a place like that to relax and enjoy your drink and food. You definitely don’t want to deal with their interesting, non welcoming attitude! Disappointed with the quality and the service!!!

The servers are very attentive. The atmosphere is delightful and the food was flavorful and comforting to my soul and my belly. Good eats and good coffee, what more could you ask for. Bon appetit!
