Café Intermezzo - Avalon

My daughter and I had a great time. She loved the vibe of the cafe. We laughed at the guy in the picture staring at our table. Service was excellent. Loved the light and dark torte. Enjoy!

Great little place to grab a bite or a hot cappuccino. Cappuccino was well done and perfect. Highly recommend their coffee selections.

Excellent experience for dinner. Inviting staff and good service. Great place to sit and enjoy a relaxing experience and take your time - not sure why people are so quick to rush these days. Will be back soon

I was excited to try Cafe Intermezzo, but so sad afterwards. I ordered 3 things to go.
The bruschetta was not good at all, very sweet, bread was not crisp or toasted at allll. And when I got it, it's was literally thrown everywhere.
I got a piece of cake, and while the flavor is good (i mean its chocolate), it tastes like a store bought cake. It's very strange also because it is wet, not moist...but wet..Like they dunked it in water before packaging it.
Very disappointed :(

Extremely busy location. The menu and taste very consistent with other location. Great staffs and quick service.

We went for dessert. They have a nice selection of cakes. We ended up getting it to go since there is a lot of public seating in Avlon to relax and have food. Had heard a lot of good things about the desserts at this place - it was great but not extra special as I expected it to be but certainly wasn't disappointed.

Sometimes you just have to get out, but cannot go in bc you have pups...I want to thank the person that came ND rescued me with a beer and genuine concern to find me on that green swing. ( Id check-Ed and everything)ND the porch to pooch service...which is above and beyond. And it was a day I needed it. My pups and I needed it🥰

10:15 this morning, my party of 4 (including an 8 month old in a stroller and a 11 year old) requested a table inside due to the rain outside. We were told 45 minute wait or 10 minutes for to-go. There were at least 8 empty tables (surprisingly slow morning - kinda weird that long of a wait but, no problem). We stepped on over to the counter to order, server was very kind, we tipped (yes, even to-go), food was delicious, and came in 10 minutes. We waited for our food among a completely vacant corner, three empty tables. To be clear, we would have waited outside if weather was better.

My issue came when manager Chad came over and told us 2 minutes after our to-go food arrived (my son is going w my exes mother for the day due to a child free wedding we are attending tonight and this was our meetup - they stood there w their food in the bag so I could eat real quick before leaving with the baby) that he needed to seat the entire section of seats and told us we needed to leave immediately. Please note, no one was at the door and all those tables were still empty.

Don’t get me wrong, I get to go orders don’t get a table - but WE ASKED FOR ONE (and were happy to pay for it), we weren’t making a mess, and I had my tush in that seat maybe 10 minutes tops due to hauling around a whiny 8 month old (were waiting on the food for most of that).

I don’t ever take the time write negative reviews, but this one took the cake. I hardly ever am able to go out to eat with my schedule, and its been YEARS since I have had the opportunity to treat my exes mom to a quick breakfast.

Do better Chad. Your behavior today was atrocious.

If you want to enjoy a really good piece of cake with wine or coffee this is the place. The crepes are really good. The seafood dip (i guess is lobster) is really good 🤤🤤🤤 nice place to go with your couple at night or with kids for lunch

Update 10/20/2021: In the interval I have been back to the Midtown location and I was incorrect, cheesecake slices are the same at both locations. My error.

Original Comment: My second time at this location. The Cafe Intermezzo cheesecake is great! However this particular location, I have had long wait times for simple to-go cheesecake orders, lacking customer service and the cheesecakes are 1/2 to 2/3rds the size of the Midtown location at the same price of $10 per slice.
