The Square Mug Cafe is in a little blue cottage at the main entrance to Tallahassee's Railroad Square art district.
The food is mostly breakfast-and-lunch fare, without _meat_ dishes: open-face veggie bagels with or without eggs, carb snacks like muffins and cookies, a variety of coffees and teas, and a couple of types of beer.
It is filled with local art mainly displaying themes of womens' empowerment and inspiration, with the occasional esoteric or transcendentalist-style piece. Refreshing and delightful.
There are about 20 seats worth of indoor seating, and roughly the same amount for outside seating, split between an elevated deck and a patio.
The clientele consists of many students pecking away at their laptops, to post-college aged Tallahasseeans of a somewhat liberal bent, and a smattering of artists and other interesting local folk.
Its place at the forefront of Railroad Square offers easy access to a wide array of shops and galleries comprising Tallahassee's Bohemian Arts district. This is some of the most concentrated local flavor Tallahassee has, all in a laid back, easy access, strollable environment, without any chain stores present, meaning all are local small businesses.

I usually have such a positive experience at this cafe. The owner is super sweet and the coffee is usually perfect. However today was much different. The cafe was busy which is not unsual for this place. However when it was my turn to order the barista with brunette hair was particularly rude. No big deal, I just decided not to tip today as I usually did. They said "I appreciate you" as they turned the ipad around and when they saw I in fact did not tip said to my face "or NOT." In addition my drink and my friends drink was not great today and my friend's pastry under baked in the middle. I can't say I will be back any time soon. So disappointing

The freshest most refreshing brews in town. I can even drink the coffee black? 🤔🤔🥰 But they have so many more options. It's so laid back. It's so chill. It's just a wonderful place to breathe and gather yourself in the mornings. I've come here every day since I've got back to Tallahassee a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure I'm at the owner of this wonderful establishment. I've been given cucumbers. And other produce. They're just truly caring people. And they want to help the community out in every way possible!!

Seriously cute! With a great menu and beautiful patio space, this is a relaxing place to snack, socialize, and focus. Donna truly has the community in her heart and on her mind. Square Mug embraces the arts, featuring local talent and fun events too!

I can't say much on their food since I've haven't had any, but the coffee is decent and the environment is pretty nice to get work done in.

First time here, hopefully not the last. I am a celiac who was able to enjoy the Resting Witch Face pumpkin chai without a reaction! Delicious! Friendly staff who took the time to check ingredients for allergy information to ensure my safety. Cant wait to try more drinks!
