Calusa Coffee Roasters

This is now the best coffee in Fort Lauderdale. Hands down. Fresh beans, great pour, great value!

Beans are roasted in house, which he also sells. Some roasts and combos I like more than others, but they are consistently flavorful and filled with pleasant tones. Never unpleasantly bitter.

I'm a cortado guy. He is very good at steaming the 3% milk so the pour becomes very thick, but it never separates from the espresso or bubbles. Not so much as 1 grain of grounds on the bottom of the cup. He is also getting good at the latte art, although that doesn't really affect the taste.

EDIT: out of the dozens of times I was here I DID find 1-2 grains of coffee grounds on the bottom ONE time. I didn't think such imperfections were possible here! :-D

I was a former recurring customer at Swichbox until the management change (prices went up and didn't reflect quality). I am quite familiar with the coffee scene here, I've been to Brew Urban, Warsaw Coffee (now Milk Money), Wells, and Alchemist (good but pricey now) as well, it's easy to say Ft. Laudie is very privileged to have exceptional coffeeshops.

But this place has the freshest beans and the best pours, and for the best value.⁹

My go to when vacationing at my condo in Palm Aire. I don't think you can find a better place for a great espresso. Just got back from 2.5 weeks there and really wish I had gone more often. Unfortunate chain of events did not allow me to visit much but on my last day this past Wednesday I stopped in after my daughter follow up at the Dr. Grabbed an espresso and we sat under a palm tree and just enjoyed the moment. I worked in the coffee businesses and he the owner knows what he's doing. Don't listen to the bad reviews. They do not appreciate good coffee. Keep it up

Great place for coffee lovers it is made fresh everyday. Has its own grinding coffee machine just incredible. Service was great and people were pleasant. Also had vegan options.

'Mango' the cat was lounging at the front entrance to welcome guests. The decor is very well done, tropical/beachy but understated. This place will transport you to your favorite island getaway in an instant. Ordered the cold brew. So smooth you can taste the freshness. No cream or sugar required. A place coffee lover's will appreciate.

SUPERB coffee & roasted onsite!! Owner is always present. He's very friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend. A hidden gem in Oakland Park !! Enjoy !!

Went in for a latte and left with 2 bags of some of the freshest beans I have had the opportunity to purchase. The gentleman who helped was knowledgeable and helped me select my beans based on my taste like a wine sommelier.

I'm surprised I didn't write this place a 5 star review sooner. I've been coming to Calusa for a few months now. Best coffee beans in FL. I have tried other local roasters and Calusa is far superior in my opinion. Steve is a cool dude who is pleasant to deal with. Lots of variety and beans sourced from all over the world. Go here!

Just found my new spot for buying carefully sourced whole bean coffee roasted on-site in small batches for freshness and worth every penny. They sell samples so you can find your perfect bean, and you can enjoy a brew of your choice in their cozy, friendly, unpretentious cafe/shop.

Wonderful freshly roasted coffee! A great owner who is a pleasure to do business with. Only place in S Florida that I will purchase my coffee from..... and it's a half hour drive each way. Definitely worth the effort.

Calusa Coffee Roasters is the Best Coffee in Town Hands Down! Great spot to chill and have some good coffee they have Wi-Fi so if you want to play around on your phone or your computer you can do that as well! Luis is a great guy and he's my Marine Corps brother. His wife Maria will take great care of you as well. I go there every day so if you come on by you might see me sitting there as a permanent fixture haha!
