Cafe Bustelo
Review of Cafe Bustelo
Cafe Bustelo is a cozy cafe located at 1200 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33174. As a local favorite, it offers a variety of delicious Cuban-inspired dishes and beverages. The cafe is open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays, and 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. Unfortunately, it is closed on Sundays.
Customers have mixed reviews about Cafe Bustelo. Some have praised the café con leche and cortadito, which are said to be amazing and the perfect way to start the day. The staff is often described as friendly and provides great service. The atmosphere is beautiful, making it a great place to enjoy a meal or catch up with friends.
However, there have been negative reviews as well. Some customers have found the food to be of low quality for the price, with certain dishes lacking in key ingredients. The majority of the staff members have been described as rude and unresponsive, which can be off-putting to customers seeking a pleasant dining experience.
Despite the mixed reviews, Cafe Bustelo has its loyal patrons who appreciate the affordable food and great drinks. The cafe also offers a variety of pastries, including ham croquetas and pastelitos, which are worth a try.
If you're looking for a quick pick-me-up or a place to relax with a cup of coffee, Cafe Bustelo may be worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the experience may vary depending on the day and the staff on duty.

Came here for brunch on vacation and LOVED it!!! The food was amazing. Our waitress was the sweetest person. Mari kept the bottomless mimosas coming and provided great service. 10/10 would recommend!

This place is an insult to the cuban culture, they gave me a tostada thats was not even tosted, It also tasted like nothing

Every kind of meal I have tried here is very low quality for the given price. I just got a ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwich where the cheese made up only 2% of the sandwich and ham was like 8%. It more of a bread and egg sandwich. Only thing I’ve tried here that is worth it is the colada which is the reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1. Believe me I’m Cuban born and raised, I’ve been to several Cuban cafes and this one is way below average.

The majority of the staff members who work here are incredibly rude. They don’t even respond when you say “good morning” or anything. Only one of the ladies who I saw on a Saturday once is really nice, but the rest of them make you feel like you’re asking them for a favor by ordering. Two stars because the food, at least, is really good. The service, not so much.

Nice Americano Cubano. The empanada was not bad either.

If I am going to a Cuban food restaurant it’s because I want to enjoy it fully not half way. Any well known cuban food place will call Cuban food correctly by its name, such as Estefans Kitchen Express or Kitchen 305.
There are a story to tell behind each food’s name.
Labeling food incorrectly is very disrespectful and misleading in the culinary art and to consumers.
A colada is not a cafecito, and a Cuban
tostada is not only a tostada, there are tangible difference among these names.
For instance, when you go to a French restaurant you call a croissant by its name instead of bread/ pan , and a Croque madame is not a bread/pan with ham and eggs . Therefore you all shall understand the critical value of labeling food properly not only to attract consumers but also out of respect to every story and ethnicity behind each name.
I look forward in the nearest future to enjoy fully cuban food.

The perfect way to start a day on campus. One cortadito and two ham croquetas. Simply perfect.
The staff is also very nice

Maria, Angela, Celia all very friendly people at Bustelo. I have been getting coffee for last 3 years at Cafe Bustelo. Same great taste.

The coffee tastes horrible. Moreover, you ask them to make the cortadito dark and they ignore you. Of course, being the only café option at FIU they don't have to care right?

Communication was a bit hard since they mostly responded in half Spanish half English but it's nothing much to complain about
