Bula Kava Bar & Coffee House (Bula on the Beach)

Stopped in for a coffee but it made me and my husband physically ill. Like nausea, stomach problems, headache, cold sweats and more tired than before having the caffeine within 20 min of drinking it. I like really strong coffee and coldbrew, but the taste of this was more than just bitter or strong, it was almost off, like rancid or something. We couldnt finish our drinks and had to pour them out. This might have been a one-off and not how it usually is but I don't think I'll ever go back. If you have plans later in the day I would not recommend 😢

Fun place, good mix of music, nice vibes, relaxing atmosphere on the beach. Staff is very friendly and approachable, kava is very potent and fresh. Coffee's good. Reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.

Love this place the atmosphere is great. I go almost every weekend and there open till 3 a.m.. The kava is good, you do have to be 18 to get in with proper id. They have 1 pool table (balls get stuck every once in awhile), a dart board (bring your own the house darts tips are shot) cornhole, and a couple of hula hoops. Outside on the deck you even can sometimes see people practicing their poi or light shows. Everybody is friendly, the staff is always helpful, an welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and have. Bula!!!

Bula chain is the best place to go chill and kick back ! Professional grade Kava and Kratom and other specialty brews this is where You want to go great staff High Spirital vibes and super friendly regulars with interesting intellectuals Stop in and time it so you catch the Sunset at the beach across the street !

Cool little place. We had lattes and an espresso shot. Everything was good. Staff was friendly. I really liked the atmosphere. It was nice sitting by a fire to drink my coffee!

Clean, friendly staff and patrons. Best drinks in the area (coffee, kratom, kava, and kombucha). Pet friendly. Beach vibes and charming decor. Prices are fair. It can be easy to spend money here because everything is so good.

Only downside is that parking is very limited because Bula is so popular with the locals. Don't park across the street on the dirt lot because you can and will be towed.

If you are in Pinellas, you MUST check it out. This is a great alternative to the bar scene.

Tips on consumption: never consume kava within 12 hours before or after consuming alcohol. Avoid consuming kratom on an empty stomach because it can cause motion sickness which is unpleasant but not dangerous.

Couldn't stay because there was so much cigarette smoke everywhere I couldn't breathe. Overflowing ash trays everywhere, can't be sanitary. Too bad because outside space was pretty. Smoke wafts inside and is even worse in where you order coffee. Coming from New England I didn't realize having this much smoke inside was even legal. Won't be back. If you have asthma or allergies to smoke, stay away or else you will end up in the hospital!

Love the latte here. Mother kombucha on tap. Great place to chill or work/play on laptop. Outdoor seating. Friendly staff and patrons.
