Daughter and I went in for a late breakfast; it was about noon time. The place is unique in that there is a post office in the same space as the restaurant- access through same door. Eclectic, but nonetheless welcoming. The restaurant takes the majority of the space and gives you the Little Havana feel, like if it belonged somewhere in Miami. You place your order and pay at the very location where you enter the front door, they hand you a ticket # and then you find your own seat if dining in, or a place to wait while they work on your order. When you hear your # called you approach the pick up which is at a different location. If dining in they provide your meal on a paper plate; if ordering 'to go' you get a foam food enclosure. Nothing fancy but it works and quite organized. Very much like a cafeteria in Miami area. I enjoyed the experience. Menu was ethnic, however having American basic options as well. Prices reasonable. Service behind the counter was warm and helpful; speaking English or Spanish clearly. My disappointments were in 1. we wanted pancakes, but they stop serving pancakes after 11am due to not enough grill space available after that hour. 2. The ordering location is too close to the front door causing confusion in foot traffic coming in with lines going to both restaurant and postal service.

Despite the road closure that confused Google maps...we found it. Tons of parking. Nice little place inside a building with a post office. Plenty of spaced out seating. We came for the Cuban coffee and my husband was very happy. The rice/bean/chicken burrito was excellent and too much for me to finish. He tried the pulled pork sandwich which he described as "fine". We'll be back.

Cuban lunch with a side of stamps
This is a local gem. It is a counter service breakfast/lunch joint sharing space with a post office. Be aware that they are not open on the weekends.
Most people seem to opt for the Cuban sandwich I went the Picadillo and was not disappointed. Flavor was good, portions were ample and the staff very friendly. Our tostones were a bit bland but the sweet plantains were very good. The food was served on paper plates and plastic silverware.
There was plenty of space for inside seating and everything seemed clean. There is street parking and a lot across the street, If you have a hankering for some Cuban on weekdays before 3 give this place a try - recommended

This happy couple was featured in the Miami Tribune for one of the best Cuban Sandwiches in Florida. They nailed it. I never had it with "Tampa Style" i.e. Salami added and that made it pop. Very friendly folks and a nice clean place. The French Fries were awesome too. Well worth the trek from Stuart.

Mervis' Cafe has consistently great food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Everything I've had from the menu has been well prepared and tasty. The owners are friendly and keep the restaurant clean and welcoming. They have one of the best steak sandwiches that money can buy. I'm getting hungry for one now.

Got sick with severe diarrhea requiring an ambulance trip to the emergency room for fluids to overcome dehydration. Called simply to let them know so that more health precautions might be taken. Was told it is my fault for ordering over easy eggs. Really? I've been ordering over easy eggs all of my life and never gotten sick before. Their response is appalling.

The food is crazy good. I love their Cuban sandwiches and the croquettes are to die for. Definitely worth the ride to Ft Pierce. I haven't had better than this since I left south Florida.

The Cuban sandwich was VERY GOOD, and the ham crokettes (croquetas de jamón) were PERFECT! You order in the entrance and wait for your food to be ready, like in a fast food restaurant, so I am not rating service. The place could use better lighting!! The prices are very reasonable too!

Stopped in for a cafe con leche and a pastry. Both were awesome. Ended up back for lunch and had the Cuban sandwich lunch special. Absolutely outstanding sandwich, great value as well. Staff were very friendly and the place was very clean. Trust me no need to venture to Miami to find an authentic Cuban sandwich. I will definitely be back.

Great service; fast, accommodating, and very nice. Was even cooler to experience it in a post office. Don’t see those often. Would recommend if you’re in the area and want a different atmosphere for breakfast
