My family and I went there last night for dinner. Fyi they do not have regular sweet tea but they have mango sweet tea that my sister enjoyed. Their prime rib is rather tender but their mashed potatoes and the broccoli was rather flavorless and frankly I found the broccoli rather nasty. However their pasta was phenomenal and I greatly wished I had ordered that instead of my prime rib. The staff were okay our waiter was rather inattentive. Overall experience was okay but was definitely not worth the amount we paid.

Food was fantastic and perfectly cooked. Our waiter however, was completely incompetent. Took 20 minutes to take our order because he thought he already had. There were only 4 tables seated when we got there. He never refilled a glass unless we asked. Offered us a dessert that had been sitting out and “only partially melted.” One of the glasses was cracked down the side and when he was notified he said, “I don’t see it.” Again, the food was great but he singlehandedly brought the experience down.

What a gem! And a welcome break from the fried shrimp baskets everywhere else. Tabasco fried grouper cheeks over mac & cheese covered in collards! Whoa! Will come back for that one! Wife had the Gyro Salad - tasty, juicy meat on spinach and mixed greens with feta cheese and a thick tzatziki. Should definitely be on the list when you’re in Apalachicola.

Maybe this was an OFF day for 'Tamara's Cafe'...
Several empty tables at 1:00 pm Saturday whilst other nearby eateries were jammed.
Slow to be seated, slow to be approached by wait staff.
Not much going on here as patrons were simply waiting for, or eating their lunch. Very dismal atmosphere.
Had to get up to get tableleware & napkins due to inattentive servers.
$ 18 Grouper Sandwich was stingy on main ingredient...
There are better places nearby.

Stopped here thinking what a cute cafe! Food was marginal. Service was horrible but not because the waiter was bad...but because he was the only one pretty much working the lunch hour. There was a waitress there but not sure what she was doing. Oh that’s right...yelling at the cooks in the kitchen where the entire restaurant could hear. Her customer service skills were horrible. It’s as if it was the customers were totally inconveniencing her. Not a smile to be found. Since our guy was completely overwhelmed my soup was lukewarm at best and my cheese sandwich was shoved between the bowl and plate. If I wouldn’t have looked I wouldn’t have seen it. People would wait to be seated but no one ever came so they left. Saw this happen 2 or 3 times while we were there. And don’t go to the restroom where you would have to walk by the kitchen. The smell was so bad! I can’t even describe how bad the smell was. And where was the manager? I think this place needs some more help and customer service training. Oh and good cleaning of the kitchen. You don’t have many options in Apalachicola to eat but I’d avoid this place like the plague.

The food and service was just okay, not bad but it felt like there server was trying to make us leave. She dropped the check in the middle of us eating entrees and we actually wanted more drinks and dessert. Then she dropped it again without us asking when we got the dessert. We would have stayed longer to drink! This was only 7:30pm and one of 3 tables dining so hardly like they had a wait for tables.

Tamara's is a good restaurant. The staff is always pleasant and the food is well prepared and presented well. You will find the food prices are reasonable and the portions are good also. Their daily specials are always a good choice and value. This visit I had the grouper sandwich which was great and my wife had the fish taco which I think was even better! For after your meal, the desserts are good too.

We happened upon Tamara’s last night. The food was awesome. I had Tabasco fried grouper cheeks with Chorizo Mac and cheese and collards. It was one of the best meals we have ever had. Wonderful flavors and great comfort food. If you are in town, you must give them a try and this dish is a must!

Took over an hour to get our food. They forgot our order twice. We got 2 chicken Caesar Salads and fish tacos. All meat was cold and our waitress didn't keep our drinks filled. The waitress even had the nerve to ask "do you want change back" when we gave a 100 to pay for the 40 dollar bill. Not going back.

Danny and the crew at Tamara’s did an amazing job with our dinner for 25...with only a week’s notice!!!
Our original venue canceled on us, and I called Tamara’s totally panicked! Danny immediately said he would take care of us even accommodating some specific requests. The food was delicious!! And the service was excellent. You will not be disappointed whether planning a special event or just having a delicious meal!!
