Decent coffee, cool space, very good double chocolate latte cookie.

Great experience overall. Friendly staff and no wait time, especially surprising since I went at such a busy hour. I got the smashed avocado tartine - highly recommend!

Would give a 3.5 if I could but the current experience is not a 4 star. The best part of the place is definitely the decor — it is gorgeous, like you’re in a garden in the French countryside. My cappuccino and pain au chocolat were tasty as well.
A big negative is that there is no WiFi which is a particular problem because there is also no cell service at all in the building (must be due to the construction of the building). It was to the point where I could not send a text message to the person I was meeting and had to go outside to get in touch with them. Service is also slow. Perhaps they are going for a “people relaxing without technology” vibe — which I do enjoy on a vacation or a lazy weekend morning — but a modern coffee shop in the US needs to give people the ability to do work.
EDIT: I saw some reviews about how some of the employees don't know English. I do want to say, as a Spanish speaker, that the server/busser who only spoke Spanish was the nicest employee in the place and was a highlight of the otherwise mediocre experience. Figured I would give that shout-out!

The customer service in here is fantastic! I went this morning to pick up for me and my friend and they were extremely accommodating and sweet. Definitely some of the best customer service I have ever received in DC! ❤️

No reception in the store, therefore cannot use data. ALSO no public WiFi. Not a good study spot. Food is mid. Ambience is nice.

What a disappointment experience. I came so excited to try one of the gf sandwich options and I couldn’t get anything bc “there’s no gf options available for today”. The cashier was really rude and I asked nicely what were the others gf options available and she replied “she did not know and if I like she could call the manager for me”. I refused and went ahead with a salad. The driest salad I have ever had. They forgot to bring me utensils and I had to figured out by myself where to get them bc the server didn’t heard when I asked for it and just left. Definitely not coming back and I recommend you to go to Tate instead: same kind of menu and much friendlier staff.

Very lovely aesthetic and decor in Maman w/ even lovelier staff. I’ve tried the salmon crogel, iced chai and the matcha, all delicious. Customer service is terrific (s/o to Denesha and Crystal) and the ambiance in the establishment is such a nice, relaxing vibe. This is a wonderful addition to the UM neighborhood!

Good chai latte. Seating was full. As a travel to DC, pricing is high for tea/coffee - being around $7.

Food is great but please get wifi! There’s zero cell service in the building - I can’t even send a text while there. Makes it unpleasant and impractical to visit during work hours or if you’re trying to get ahold of anyone.

Waitresses know no English, are rude, and just plain have 0 experience. Overall food takes long considering the ok quality. Prices are too high.
