This is my favorite coffee shop in Westcliffe. Steve is always there to greet you with a smile and a fast cup of whatever makes you happy. There is free WiFi for customers and nice comfortable seating area.

If you are traveling through Westcliffe, Colorado, Tumbleweed Coffee Shop is a very special place to stop. We arrived in the afternoon after traveling from Breckenridge through the Wet Mountain Valley.
Stopping in Westcliffe was nostalgic for us because, more than 30 years ago, we had traveled there to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends. Mike Stewart’s family owned a log cabin at the foot of Eagle Peak. He traveled from Colorado Springs to share a frontier Thanksgiving, roasting our turkey in the wood stove, getting water from a nearby creek. Our five-year-old son played in the nine-foot snowfall with his friends.
So today we were back in Westcliffe, which had made some welcoming changes while remaining much the same. The Tumbleweed Coffee House was inviting and personalized. We walked through the back door and asked for two coffees and a cinnamon roll. Delicious, fresh, and the perfect antidote to miles of mountain driving. The barista was kind and welcoming. As we walked through the inviting back room, we hurried to the restrooms and out the back door...We still had hours to go to reach Raton where we were scheduled to stay. An hour or so later I realized that my phone was missing. Unable to find it, we carried everything in from the car when we stopped for the night. Despite our thorough search, still no phone.
We looked at each other and said, “Let’s call the phone.”
Who answered? Jane Pendergrass, whom we had never met, and who replied, “Sandy Briggs?”
“Who is this? The owner of the coffee shop?” I said.
“Yes,I’m Jane…..and I have your phone. You left it in the restroom.”
What a relief! The next morning, a Sunday, we drove back to Westcliffe, stopped at the Tumbleweed, which wasn’t open, found my phone exactly where Jane had said she would leave it.
We are so grateful to Tumbleweed; to Westcliffe, still a friendly stop in the road; to the kind barista who served us warm, delicious coffee; to the owner of this coffee house whose generosity and integrity extended to visitors she had never met. We will be in Westcliffe again; we will return to Tumbleweed Coffee House. Pay it a visit!

The coffee is wonderful at Tumbleweeds. I love to grab a carmel macchiato and sit out at a shaded table in front. It is a wonderful experience and I highly recommend the coffee.

Absolutely fantastic little coffee stop with goodies, perfect service, and VERY awesome coffee drinks. Such a gem in Westcliff as you go to and from Sangre de Cristo mountain range. A muct.
