If you find yourself in Nederland (and you should, as it's a great town to make a day trip to), start your trip right by stopping here. Their drink menu is pretty extensive, all of which are thoughtfully and deliciously made. Don't hesitate to order some food though (I especially recommend the polenta with mushrooms, pesto, and an egg) as it matches the quality of the drinks. If you're lucky, you'll get a seat on the couch next to the fireplace, but if you find yourself at a table, pickup one of the games they have lying around for some fun!

Was great when they opened years ago. It's tanked unfortunately. Good food and espresso. Drip coffee is rough.

They refuse to cut sandwiches in half: "We can give you a knife" is the response... pushing the messy job onto the customer. That's just bad customer service.

Overall poor attitude and energy behind the counter.

Lovely shop with mountain decor. Good coffee well presented. Great selection of vegetarian meets carnivore type dishes. Translation, they are good both with and without a meat added. The Quinoa White Bean and chicken bowl, with Kale, was fabulous. My guys chowed down on the burritos, one with chicken, the other with barbarcoa. Be sure to try the local craft brew, the grapefruit pilsner was clean and refreshing and paired nicely with the fresh flavors in the food. They do a brisk lunch business, but it was worth the wait. Close enough to the lake that you can wait out a rainstorm over a cold one, or a cup of coffee.
Service was friendly. Be mindful that this small town gets over run in the summer months with people who come up from Denver and Boulder, so please try to be patient.😊
Convienient bike shop nextdoor.
PS EXCELLENT COCONUT MACAROONS, WITH OR WITHOUT CHOCOLATE

Delicious gourmet tacos filled with sauteed mushrooms or grilled carnitas or chicken, fresh guacamole and smoky salsas for lunch, topped off with fruity iced tea and coconut macaroons for dessert. What's not to love? Even the pups enjoyed a shaded spot on the outdoor patio to visit other locals.

This place is AMAZING! You can tell that they really know their coffee. They put so much detail and care into every cup they make and it really shows through the taste! Not to mention, the food is absolutely delicious. Easily the best place in Ned!

If only every town in America had a coffee house like this . The most delicious, smooth espresso I’ve ever had ! Breakfast burrito was Devine . Friendly and helpful baristas. This is a must stop if passing through .

The sandwiches are now pre-made and not particularly good for the price. We will not be returning for lunch.

Salto is my favorite stop for coffee in Nederland. They really know how to brew a great cup of Joe. I would describe the buildings architecture as rustic modern. This place has a really cool vibe. There is an awesome fireplace to enjoy inside and out on chilly days or evenings. They offer some great dining choices. Breakfast and lunch are available. Their breakfast sandwiches always satisfy. The tacos and burritos are very filling and the prices are fair. I recommend the three taco combo plate. Three tacos with your choice of protein or veggie and a generous side of beans and rice. There is plenty of seating available inside and out but parking can be limited based on the time of your visit. It's a very popular destination in Nederland. Be prepared to walk a short distance at peak times. Nederland is a great mountain town to explore so this shouldn't be an issue for most. Wheelchair accessible parking is available.

My one and only visit to Salto was an extreme disappointment. My girlfriend and I ordered the same breakfast sandwich and a pastry. One sandwich came out, and ten minutes later I went to ask after our missing food.

I was told "you only ordered one sandwich". I politely explained that was not the case. The waitress checked our order, and saw that we had paid for the pastry that was not brought out, but that she had not entered the order for my sandwich. She said breakfast had ended 5 minutes ago, but she would ask the kitchen if they would make one more sandwich. The kitchen staff said no. There was no acknowledgment that they had forgotten my order and no attempt to make it right. I confirmed with my group of four that they had heard my order, they all had. So, I continued my motorcycle ride without eating, but with a very bad taste in my mouth from Salto.

If you miss or forget a customers order, you find a way to right your mistake. There were any number of ways they could have remedied the mistake, but no effort was made. I Won't return after the abysmal customer service. Which is too bad, because the food I didn't get to try looked good.
