Lake City Cafe

We showed up shortly after a huge rush right when they opened for dinner at 5. Despite the high volume of customers & small staff, our service was good & everyone was friendly. The chicken fried steak was incredible! Overall a great place to stop on our way through some of the trails.

We loved this place so much, we decided to come back for breakfast. As of 10/10/2021 their coffee hours are 7-11 Tue-Sun.

The breakfast sandwich with bacon on a croissant was delicious. Very generous with ingredients. The croissant was light & buttery, egg was nice & fluffy, plenty of bacon & a nice thick slice of cheese that melted everything together. The fresh tomatillo salsa brightened up the otherwise rich & hearty sandwich nicely.

The Mexican mocha was a perfect balance of chocolate & spice. I grabbed a pumpkin muffin & blueberry muffin to go & both were wonderful as well.

This place is a favorite locals hangout where you’re sure to find an assortment of Lake City’s finest characters, great coffee, awesome food, and the sweetest staff you’ll ever meet.

We stopped in while exploring Lake City as there aren't too many options in town.

They have an expansive patio with great views of town and the mountains. We ate here for lunch and everything everyone had was fantastic!

The chicken tenders were seriously life-changing, they were so juicy, yet crispy and the batter had phenomenal flavor! These were some of the best tendies I've ever had and you get 6 of them for less than $10.

Apparently everything is made in-house except for the fries and buns. We spoke to the owner/manager and he was really friendly. The servers were incredibly kind and super helpful, some of the best service we received out of all the spots we visited in Lake City, Creede, etc.

The food here is outstanding, the people are kind, and I'd def recommend everyone to stop in and grab a bite!

We made the drive over from Creede and let's just say we will be making the drive many more times in the future because the food is fantastic. I personally had the Catfish and loved it. Some in our group had the signature Chicken fried Steak which lived up to its reputation. No one in our party was disappointed. We also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. He was very friendly and shared with us how almost everything is hand cut and made. He also shared his love for the wonderful community of Lake City.

Food was good. Not enough staff for a Friday evening. Our server worked very hard to make up for the long wait - she was great. Dog friendly patio seating. Check them out.

On my short list of must-go places to eat in Lake City! The coffee is perfect and I loved the breakfast options in the morning, then went back for dinner for amazing chicken and waffles! All this coupled with some of the friendliest staff you’ll run into make Lake City Cafe the best!

Friendly place! Greated by name by the sheriff when we walked in (not our names, unfortunately:) ). Heard some grumbling in the kitchen (we walked in 15 minutes before they closed for the afternoon at 2pm), but food was amazing. Absolutely would stop there again.

Good food with very friendly staff. Just watch their hours of business as they change without notice toward the end of the season (Oct 1st).

THE PRICES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH AND THEN THEY RIP YOU OFF ON A SO CALLED TAX. We camped in Lake City and went to Lake City Cafe for coffee and breakfast. The owner charged us 33.4% tax. The sales tax according to the city is 6-7.1%.
Find a better option.

Very lovely place and cute ambiance, truly a gem of Lake City. I had the fried cat fish, the seasoning is just right and not greasy, I ordered a half order but wish I had ordered a full order. Also, Lauren makes a really good margarita. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes.
