The Cutthroat Cafe, what can I say? I hate having to write a bad review but for the sake of others, here goes: As we sat, my chair had a broken back and I had to swap it out. My wife's chair had nasty stains, and nothing looked clean, let alone maintained in any way. The flies were the worst I've ever see, continually attacking our food and even the water glass in pairs. The "entertainment" was way too loud and we rejoiced when he took a break. My wife was wise and ordered a baked potato, but her decaf coffee was swill from hell. She ventured that it was made from used grounds, but I tasted it and was sure it would take a more intentional work to make something that bad. I ordered a 3 egg cheese and mushroom omelet which looked and tasted out of a can. The supposedly hash brown potatoes were insipid and almost uneatable, but I was hungry and persisted, even eating the large chunks that evaded the grater; they would have been better if they came in a bag from some institutional provider. I had chosen wheat toast, and what came was crispy white toast that had to be set aside. And when I went inside to pay, I witnessed their bar section where all the signature drinks originated with a large array of all the "fixins", all un-refrigerated of course, and lookin somewhat worse for exposure to the hot day.
As we retreated to the car, I thankfully took a drink of my little thermos coffee, and quickly ate a couple of my wife's stupendous cookies hoping to erase the flavors I'd experienced permanently from my taste buds.
I only post this in the hope that others be spared a similar fate. I will never again trust a 4.4 star average review for anything!

The staff is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere of the restaurant is fine, but the lunch/dinner food was incredibly underwhelming. The French fries were almost indistinguishable from the ones you could make at home out of a freezer, the food was under-seasoned and the ingredients were low quality. My husband ordered a steak sandwich and the meat was cold, tough, and flavorless—the exact opposite of what you want for a steak. Our friend had a burger that she said was fine, nothing to write home about. For the prices you pay, I was expecting much better quality food. I’ve heard good things about the breakfast food, maybe try to come during their breakfast hours and avoid the lunch/dinner menu.

Worst place I've eaten in months. They did tell us it was busy and would take half an hour; it actually took well over an hour. And when my "hot turkey" sandwich arrived it was a couple slices of lukewarm turkey on white bread. At least the staff were friendly.

Warm, cozy and simple Cafe with Specials Every Day and very reasonable prices. Was not too crowded and we sat right down. Every single thing we had was good... The pie slices were even better ! Love This Place !

I really enjoy going to the Cutthroat - they have very personable staff, always being friendly and conversational. There are a few select locals who seem to be there every time as well, positively adding to the atmosphere of the place. The food is very good too! I have a tendency to get annoyed with restaurants and their attempts to present the most eclectic menu in the state, ie a bacon, egg, cilantro, twisty ciabatta burger with vegan double fried dippy sauce fries - you know the type. But this place, in my opinion, offers a classic American style menu where a cheeseburger is a cheeseburger. Their fries are delicious by the way.

I definitely recommend the Cutthroat Cafe - it's like that good back-home burger joint that you never get to frequent anymore. I would like to provide a 5-star rating; the missing star is related to price of the food. It's a bit on the high side in my opinion, but not too "cutthroat". My last dining experience there consisted of two patrons who each had a burger and fries, totalling out just north of $32.00. Don't get me wrong, I know a good burger and fries comes with a cost but I feel like that's a bit on the upper end of the spectrum. Regardless, I will still go back for more, and you should too!

Great food at a very good price with generous portions. The owner/ cook and waitress were so caring and friendly. They made my daughter feel right at home..
I will be back, I'm moving here.

A basic breakfast that wasnt bad, but could have been better. The hashbrowns weren't crispy and under seasoned. The breakfast sandwich was simple and had perfectly cooked eggs. Not a bad place to grab a quick bite when heading into the mountains.

Always fun in a let your hair down atmosphere. New cook who knows how to cook without drowning the food in grease. Yay!!
