We stopped in to Pappy and Harriet’s Frontier Cafe for a quick lunch after hiking through Joshua Tree National Park.
It’s a unique little place that is about a 20 minute drive from the park entrance. It’s adjacent to a Western movie set that you can tour, or watch live stunt shows twice a month. (Check their website)
The restaurant is a local classic with rustic decor, and a menu that will satisfy almost all palates, including vegetarian choices!
It was really busy when we arrived, but the place is pretty large with lots of seating, so we were seated almost immediately.
Our server was very friendly and attentive.
We had a nice light lunch of a Kale Salad, guacamole/fresh salsa and a mountain of chips, and their amazing chili nachos. The nachos were unique in how they were prepared. We got the vegetarian chili, which was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice.
Prices are reasonable, too!
They have live music on a stage some nights, so check their website to see what sort of entertainment options might be scheduled.
A great place to stop when you are in the Joshua Tree Park area! We will most definitely go back again to try a few more things from their menu!

5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Today I’m visiting with my mom and she takes me to This cute cafe ☕️🥪 is very welcoming and cozy. My mom comes here almost everyday and I can see why the cafe patrons hanging out and the customer service when ordering your items. Also the barista “Annie” knows what she’s doin our drinks tasted perfect 🤩 there’s plenty of space and they even have an area. That’s kind of soothing with plants inside. There’s cool artwork on the wall and information about what’s going on in the community posted on their walls. They offer restrooms and they are tiny but clean 🧼 They have outside seating as well.
Like 👍🏻 my review and stop here for your next cup of coffee ☕️ or something to eat 🥪

Favorite Cafe in Yucca Valley. Food is fresh and delicious as well as the drinks! This place also has a very unique and artsy vibe. Will definitely visit again when in the valley.

Great local coffee shop. It has a trendy ambiance and a great outdoor seating area for nice days. They serve Joshua Tree Company coffee, and I loved my caramel latte. We got bagels and they were served with a large amount of cream cheese, which I appreciated. Staff was very friendly and they genuinely seemed to be enjoying their job.

Definitely a new favorite hybrid restaurant. Lots of tasty vegan options and non vegan selections too. The food is flavorful and fresh. A tad bit pricey tbh (14.00) for avocado toast 😬but it was still packed so maybe that’s just me. Friendly service with trendy ambiance.

Lovely little cafe! We visited it this afternoon. The BTL sandwiches were tasty, would recommend. The iced coffee i had was great too! Servers are friendly and the cafe is decorated well. Their kitchen closes at 3 pm, but they are open till 5pm. There is also a cute shop right next to it. You can go look around while waiting for the food. There are many free street parking on the road

One of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I’ve had! Great flavors and added avocado just complimented it all so well!
It was such a nice spot too.

The atmosphere of Frontier Cafe is excellent. They have indoor and outdoor seating, cute shirts, trinkets and other things that you can buy to commemorate your visit, and options for everyone. My friends and I are vegan/vegetarian and had an easy time choosing a food option. There is something for everyone here! Please try thr prickly pear palmer, it looks amazing and was delicious.

What a charming little third wave cafe in the Yucca Valley. There is a nice, covered outdoor seating area to sit in the shade. I have the feeling like a lot of the clientele is composed of affluent Angelenos and Bay Area folks. (We were also visiting from out of town). We had the golden milk latte (+ espresso), the vegan BLT, the pesto pasta, the classic breakfast sandwich, and a gigantic salad. The portions were much larger than I thought they would be, particularly the side of pasta (huge). The ingredients in everything were high quality, like the heirloom tomatoes in my BLT. The tempeh had a nice, smoky flavor and firm texture. Would recommend!

Came in while road tripping.

I got the Lox and a chai latte and my friend got a BLT. All of them were great. The place had a lovely atmosphere and ac. Clean if punk style bathrooms with stickers. The Wi-Fi was available once you scan a QR code on a pillar. Lots of local signs posted everywhere and a younger crowd that seemed very diverse and LGBTQIA friendly.

I would totally come here again and next time try the Cubano. I heard good reviews from other tables
