What a great place for Breakfast.... entrance is shared with another place that sells Teas
It had been a while since I've been to South Lake Tahoe and I am really glad to have gone specially since we got to enjoy the food here at the Red Hut Cafe. Food was delicious for the price.
I had the wafle with what tasted like fresh toasted pecans and fresh strawberries and whipp cream. Best part is that the waffle was crunchy as well and made the toppings tate even better.
My son had French Toast and he loved it with crunchy bacon 🥓 and scrambled eggs.
My other half had scrambled eggs and hashbrowns with bacon and sourgh dough bread.

This was my 2nd visit to The Red Hut Cafe but my 1st time dining in and 1st visit since COVID-19. They definitely have patrons socially distant. It was like we had rented the place out there were so few customers eating in. They also offered outside dining but the pollen was visibly floating in the air and I didn't want it to land on our food. There are tables with a red X on them meaning no sitting here. Our server was great, the food was delicious and our overall experience was wonderful. I would 100% come here again the next time I visit Lake Tahoe. Our bill came out to $65 for 2 kids, 2 adults and 4 sodas not bad seeing how we were full and had food left over.

The eggs and hash browns were okay it's better at Driftwood Cafe.
The sandwich and fries was better than Driftwood though.
The food is okay one of the few places that has plenty of parking. Service was good we got there early in the morning and it wasn't that much people there at the time.
Hash browns was bit hard and eggs over cooked a bit if u like it dry then it's good, if you like a bit moist eggs go to Driftwood cafe.

Friendly servers and staff, and the atmosphere felt like a classic diner with the older decorations, etc.

Food on the other hand was not as pleasing as the atmosphere; half-cooked hash browns, waffles that were very much like the frozen waffles from the grocery stores' freezer aisle. wouldn't be a place I'd pick for a treat on a weekend.

Loved the blueberry French toast, recommended by the server! I just thought it was a little pricey adding on banana slices for an additional $2.00, but other than that, the food was great!

Good friendly service too!

Prices have changed so don't go by what's on here. For example, I ordered the waffle special. Menu on here says about $8.99 or so, I paid about $12.49 with the egg and sausage.

Good food. Good service.
Specials were amazing. Lots of choices and very accommodating.
Wait could be very long, and sometimes food took a bit. But worth the wait, even if pricey

Don't often give negative reviews but this one is justified.

Gone downhill since our last visit. My waffle was tough and 'cold.' Asked to have it warmed up. Came back lukewarm. My wife's french toast was also lukewarm. Hot chocolate was watery as cocoa was at btm. Mens bathroom stunk and felt like it hadn't been cleaned for days.

Food was great, service was okay, the whole place really makes you feel like you're seconds away from skiing.

What a great place!! Great food, friendly staff, cool decor, and you can see the lake! Also, their ice cream shop is awesome too...too awesome! I had to hike extra miles to burn all the delicious calories:))) keep on rocking, guys! P.S. yes we came back a few times, it is worth it!
