I've tried a couple different drinks from here and have always been satisfied. Major Tom has been my favorite so far.
I also like that they have smoothies and donuts there for my daughter, we're both happy!

I love this place. Cozy little neighborhood coffee shop with delicious breakfast options (bagels and pastries). And, as a bonus, because they roast their own coffee on site, it is always imbued with the heavenly fresh coffee aroma. Plus the staff is awesome, friendly and knowledgeable.

So let me just get this out of the way... I love this place. The coffee is great, food is pretty good and the staff are awesome.
Food: mainly I've only had the bacon breakfast burrito and it hits the spot everytime and it's always hot. The other choices on the menu sound really appetizing.
Coffee: They have a lot to choose from and have rotating coffees of the day. You can ask the staff at the register and they'll tell you and also let you know if they are short on any particular brand of beans so that you can make a more informed choice.
Staff: very friendly and can hold a conversation while you wait for your coffee or food.
COVID-19 Protocols: They are being strictly followed and they have signage in front that basically says "No mask, No service". They also provide a bottle of hand sanitizer to use after interacting with their point of sale machine.
Overall: I highly recommend this place as the coffee is great, service is awesome, food is great. I recommend trying the Mocha Expresso it's pretty darn good and I'm addicted to it.

Came here based on a Friend's recommendation and found another favourites of mine. Had Italian dark roast and it was perfect.

Cute place sounds like they do good mixed drinks but their espresso is pretty bad which was disappointing considering that's where I was hoping to buy beans from.

This has been my favorite place for many years. First, the quality of coffee is very high. Then, the baristas, or whatever you call those nice and smart people working there; it's a pleasure to talk to them. Then, the atmosphere. Very interesting people around; and that includes some of my neighbors. Our community is great, and this place is a jewel.

I really like this place. Customer service is truly incredible. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but described what I would like in my coffee drink. The staff quickly identified what drink I was describing, and within a minute I had it in my hand. Very friendly, professional and easy going. I will certainly come back to this coffee shop.
Since my original visit, I have been there twice. Same great service, amazing coffee and hassle-free parking.

Good coffee, love Independents, they have been in the neighborhood for a while.

Came because of the good reviews, left... confused. Had an iced latte ($3+, small) and a Will Turner breakfast sandwich (without eggs, $5+). Dining partner had a soy latte ($5+, large) and a Joe Montana breakfast sandwich ($5+). The breakfast sandwiches are good but so very tiny, not worth the price... not very satisfying. Also the avocado is more like a guacamole than sliced avocados which wasn't bad, but for the price I was thinking it'd be fresh sliced.
As for the coffee, the ice coffee with regular whole milk and no sweeteners was extremely milky and sweet (from the milk???). It was much more like milk with a smidge of coffee than coffee with milk, ratio was definitely odd. It was not pleasant to drink. The soy milk they use is also incredibly sweet and had the same issue with huge ratio of cream to coffee. Got the Ethiopian Sidamo (1lb for $16) for home pour-over coffee and that was okay, nothing special.
The employees were nice and informative so that was a plus. The set-up of the cafe makes it a little difficult to look at the menu without seeming like you're in line, or getting past people who are looking at the menu. There is an okay pastry selection including donuts which are very average, a few gluten/wheat-free options which was nice to see. There was a neighborhood-type atmosphere so it feels like people like this place maybe for the vibe or social connection, but the actual coffee, food, and prices for the portions of the food... I wasn't amazed by.
Sadly it didn't live up to the reviews, a very average place.

Before selling, please learn how to roast coffee beans
I purchased coffee beans last weekend. Coffee beans range from over roasted to dark burnt. I like to taste coffee bean aroma in my morning coffee instead of overpowering sugar. Now my morning latte taste burnt tar.
