This is my favorite coffee shop to walk to from home. I have never been disappointed with any of their menu items. And you can always get your drink bottled for later.

Great coffee and tasty mostly vegan snacks.

Really good staff in a charming post industrial setting.

Not a lot of tables and they're all outside. But that's fine in San Jose.

Great boutiqe style coffee. Meaning you have to wait a bit. My last coffee was lacking, but still really good. As this is not run of the mill coffee, you pay a bit more.

Beautiful, beautiful coffee shop. The industrial design is gorgeous, the location is interesting. The coffee, however, was hot garbage. Ordered a mocha and the underlying espresso was deeply burnt and basically undrinkable. Notes of charred tire. Judging from the waiting line, I got unlucky or else people don't care. If I was a barista here, though, I would have been able to smell that I screwed up, and so I think I'm justified in saying something is wrong here. (Was going to make them redo it, but the line was so long I felt bad.)

On a recent trip to the Bay Area we were staying in San Jose and needed a coffee fix!
This was our first stop based on some reviews. We were looking for a good coffee to start the day, but also some beans for later.
For context, we’re unapologetic coffee nerds. Everyday we break out a scale, grind beans, and make a cup with our Blue Bottle Dripper (favorite pour over device we’ve ever used by the way!)
That to say, we are looking for the good stuff!
When it came to customer service Chromatic killed it! From their friendly conversation, to thorough recommendations on a roast we never felt rushed!
The coffee we ordered at the time was a Capp and a Latte, both were insane! There’s a difference between a spot that can give you a cup of coffee that just gives you a caffeine fix, and a spot where you can pick up the tasting notes.

Highly recommend this shop! Thank you for creating an atmosphere!

Great coffee! I had a cappucino that has their classic Gamut Espresso. Great flavor. Definitely coming back for more coffee :)

Great coffee; below average service (Long wait time. Order is left on table without names or types of order, confusing customers waiting outside.

Pricey

I really like getting beans at chromatic for my own home pour over, but I've also come several times to get beans as gifts. The staff are always super helpful picking the right roast/process for whatever method the recipient uses (cold brew, French press, etc). Great cold brew and lattes, too. Don't miss out on the fresh berry tarts, either. So good!

I was here to buy their coffee. They have them in their 12oz bag and they are fresh roasted. Good parking space. Very friendly staff. Coffee smell great in there.

Lots of choices for different origin. They roasted in-house and the taste is very delicious, smooth.
