Best coffee in San Diego. Everything is made in house and the people are very nice. Awesome coffee bar, my favorite is the salted Carmel latte (chilled). They have awesome coffee cups too!

Cool hangout place with decent coffee.

Quick visit. Staff member on the register was helpful and pleasant. Sandwich was tasty and coffee was perfect. Nice location with indoor and outdoor seating.
Only issue staff member making sandwiches did not have gloves on until asked.

Definitely my new go-to coffee shop to study. The wifi works outside which makes studying biochemistry so much better. I got the pumpkin pie latte and the seaside toast with lox. Toast was good but nothing crazy. Coffee was great. The inside is open and bright and I absolutely love the vibe. Makes it easier to get work done when the weather is perfect!

Don't really care for the millennial open sort of spacing or atmosphere, though most would appreciate the aesthetic of a place like this, as it is rather nice by those standards. The reason I give it 5 stars is purely for the coffee. That coffee was amazing and I ended up buying 2 bags of the stuff. I drink a lot of coffee and this place was tops when it came to the actual coffee.

Nice vibe and seating areas but music is way too loud, especially when the area already battles air traffic

Moniker was a great place to hang out and while its coffee was very good I think what really sets it apart is the specialty syrups that they make (I’m a coffee purist and I promise it’s good). If you want some great, unique coffee, give Moniker a shot.

Review: my wife and I were wrapping up our day hanging out in the San Diego area and wanted to get a little bit more coffee before we went to dinner. Moniker jumped out at us because of the different unique lattes on their menu, their rating, and the location. They’re situated inside town center mall and surrounded by a lot of cute artsy shops that we spent some time perusing. They have lots of seating between their multiple indoor areas and their patio so you could definitely hang out here for hours.
Normally my wife and I stick with traditional coffee and espresso drinks, pour overs, cappuccinos, maybe a vanilla latte, but in this case we were really intrigued by their house made syrups. I think that’s sort of Monikers signature. They had a few different syrups on offer and all of them seemed very unique but the one that really captured our attention was the chocolate covered banana syrup. It’s absolutely wild to say that because it’s not something I would ever imagine going in a latte but the barista talked us through it, and it’s a house made syrup which normally means it’s less sweet so we decided to give it a go.
We were really glad we did. I’ve never had a cappuccino with such distinct hints of banana and chocolate without completely overpowering the drink. It was absolutely one of the most unique lattes I’ve ever had and incredibly good. The cappuccino was also great but it was kind of a standard well executed cappuccino.
My only real critique here is that they didn’t offer pour overs. They had drip coffee but only one kind and they just didn’t offer the standard selection of single origin beans that you could use order for a pour over. I think that’s sort of works for them though because what they’re clearly going for is unique espresso drinks not single origin plane coffee.
We really loved Moniker and would probably be back in the future if we had more time.

Great coffee and fun seasonal drinks! Love the ambiance and decor of this place as well. Also highly recommend their house blend if you can snag a bag!

If you don't like the sound of commercial airliners flying overhead at 500 feet every 5-10 mins, you might not like hanging out here. On the other hand, if you find the sound of 30,000 lbs of thrust from a CFM56 engine soothing like I do, you're going to love this place.
Also, the coffee and food is quite good. There's a lot of room to work or hangout, tons of tables both inside and outside, not to mention it's located within a greater market place so there's lots of other stores as well.
