Great coffee and friendly staff!
Heartwork Coffee is very popular in the morning, especially on weekends so avoid waiting in line, order on the app.
We love dog watching when we're there...customers seem to bring a dog or two!

Very good coffee. Decent prices and good vegan pastries. Slightly noisy next to a road. Closes early.

It’s a simple walk up window coffee roaster that looks like they have their own brews. They did have a roaster on site so I’m assuming.
Great coffee and they pulled a decent espresso although my Americano was a bit diluted for my taste. It needs a second run to get better sample.
Sorry no pics 😣

Nice little coffee shop with some outdoor seating! Ordered an Americano and doughnut to start off the morning. The coffee came out quick and was delicious!

Heart work, indeed. This coffee is a valentine to anyone that loves craft coffee and values an independent spirit. I am so lucky that they’re around the corner. While there is no indoor seating their online ordering has always been such a time saver and the line always moves quickly. Their staff is wonderful- they’ve never failed to make my day better. You’ll have to navigate the neighborhood parking when you visit and there is construction across the street right now that can complicate the process but there are two parking structures across University and a quick walk down the street. If you want to see the best of SD’s craft coffee scene - they’re a highly ranked recommendation. Cheers, Heartwork. See you soon. <3

Delicious coffee. Made by baristas who know what they're doing, tasty whether you get a cappuccino or a cold brew. My favorite local roaster in San Diego. Was buying only Heart roasters beans for the last few years (bougie, I know...), but Heartwork is my new go-to. They also have cute merch, and the shop has a nice sense of community.
Neighborhood tip: on Saturday mornings, there are tacos by Chicano Soul Food parked on the sidewalk out front. Amazing tacos - tortillas made to order, vegan, meat and egg options.

Good coffee. No place to sit down. Phone number doesn't work. Similar prices to other coffee locations.

Excellent menu featuring a wide variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages - my favorite is the Chai, made in-house (no store bought concentrates here!) The care that goes into their product is something you don't find every day. They feature a rotating selection of coffee from niche roasters such as Onyx, based out of Arkansas.
There is always a nice selection of treats to go with your drink, all made locally, so they're always fresh. There are vegan options here as well, with multiple dairy-alternatives for your beverage (my favorite is the Oat milk! Seriously, try it!)
Sam, Ben, Crystal, Riley, Jen and the whole crew are always friendly and fun to chat with. If you know anything about the SoCal music scene or you're into hardcore/punk/metal, you may even run into some familiar faces here...
10/10 I plan on supporting and visiting Heartwork, any and every chance I get.

Great service, great coffee! I like to pick up beans for home and treat myself to an oatmilk latte. Love supporting a local family business.

Friendly coffee shop, definitely check them out! I believe they roast coffee beans on Mondays and Fridays so great days to get extra good scent while getting coffee there :)
