I love comforts and how they offer many vegan options now! Their food is always amazing and their pre-made chinese tofu salad is so delicious!

of course I had the chinese chicken salad, and it delivers.

the two women working here were so kind, and even offered me a sample of their chicken nuggets, which were great.

+100 points for a great Chocolate chip cookie.

I love the food at Comfots, but the last two times I've been there, the girl working at the register was unfriendly, rude and not interested in listening. Unfortunately my wife can't eat sesame seeds, so I asked for them on the side and this visibly annoyed the cashier.

Popular and busy San Anselmo Institution with a deli and restaurant. Popular among locals and also a destination. Known for its Chinese Chicken Salad. I have not been there for a while but today I ordered from the deli side and asked for toast with some avocado. They have both. One of the owners came over to me and stated they do not serve avocado toast. A true Jack Nicholson moment! But I did not take the bait. The Chinese tofu and noodle salad I ended up with was mediocre. I won't be going back anytime soon but I'm sure others will continue to go.

Wonderfully Tasty!

A great little spot. Evidently you can either eat in the ‘cafe’ section and be waited on, or order from the counter to go or eat in the open area near the counter.

We opted for the cafe, quick and attentive service, very friendly and knowledgeable waitperson.

An interesting menu with enough variations that I had trouble deciding (not sure if it’s a function of my age, but more and more frequently I’ll look over a menu and find only one or two things that sound good). Fortunately my dining comparing was having the same ‘problem’ deciding from four or five of the entrees. So we settled on two of them, the Oriental Chicken Salad and a Bacon, Tomato, Lettuce and Avocado Sandwich, which we split between us.

The waitperson had the kitchen split them for us, a nice touch.

Both were excellent, lots of chicken on the sale, very fresh greens and a perfect amount of piquant dressing. The sandwich was on wonderful, fresh sourdough bread, a great blend of flavors. Everything seemed extremely fresh and well handled.

Both the cafe and the order counter were quite busy, but everything seemed to be going well, as there was a constant flow of people finishing up as more came in.

Highly recommended.

Wasn’t sure what to make of the claim that it has the best Asian chicken salad, however it’s true!!! It’s delicious!

As always their chicken salad is the talk of the town. Today I tried the orange chicken tenders and the bread covering texture is the best I've had. It was served cold and still crunchy. The orange flavor radiated my mouth as I flavor it. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is because they where a bit to sweet and salty I hope they can get that under control and you will have me there everyday for my children salad and nuggets.

While I enjoy their food, some of their staff could be a little more friendly. I asked what was on their chicken and she replied "it's chicken". I had to ask every question to finally receive the answer I was looking for. Cut to the short, it's called Okasan. (I'm hoping this is the one my boyfriend likes) It was morning, and not very busy (maybe 3 people inside - no line outside) but I felt rushed out of the store and she didn't want to wait on me.

I get it's Covid, and times are tough.. But when I'm spending $60 on dinner take out, I would hope people would hold a little kindness and patience, especially when money isn't something I throw around during a pandemic. Just trying to surprise with a nice meal.

Even since before the pandemic this place has been going down fast. Queuing is confusing. They urge you to call ahead but the number is disconnected (??) Staff is rude and unhelpful. Signature Chinese chicken salad dressing bottled is not the same. Really disappointing, used to love coming here.
