Came for a book signing and open mic poetry reading in downstairs lounge. Very large and good acoustics! There was an upstairs loft and a back, outside, patio. Very nice venue! Batista made a host of flavored teas, smoothies, and hot drinks including plant milks and vegan baked goods. Very nice! I will be back.

This is a fantastic space with awesome coffee. Sometimes it’s hard for more to enjoy a latte with more than two shots because the drink becomes to acidic. This latte was smooth all the way. The Chai Tea is not to sweet and the oat milk lattes are great as well. I hope to come back sometime to try all the goodies they provide. Service was fast and helpful. They also have a fantastic community board that I highly recommend checking out.

What a great place to get your mind out of the ordinary restaurant atmosphere 😜 plus outstanding friendly service, and their pastries 🤤 OMG so good. Plus they support local artist too as they had some art for sale around, great coffee too... Gotta try their raspberry latte☕ 👍

I went in just to get a chai latte (delicious btw, would get again) and instead my friend and I ended up staying to also get their Turkey blt. I’m not sure what bread they use but it is the MOST sourdough bread I’ve ever had… and I LOVE sourdough.
I got to talk to the barista, super sweet, and the owner too! Also extremely kind and kinda gives off a “Im a teddy bear but don’t get too close until I know you” kinda vibe. But I’m general a really fun atmosphere and good vibes all around.
I love this place, will def come back.
Only bad thing is no free parking if you plan on staying long term. But totally worth a stop!

This is the BEST coffee shop in the Inland Empire! I cannot say enough good things about this little coffee shop. The coffee was good, the pastry was good. But the atmosphere is like nothing else.
It's a historic cafe (dating back to the early 1900's) with a lot of history and character. Plenty of seating, good free wi-fi. Friendly staff and customers. Several different areas of seating, from tables to bar top, to couch and comfy chairs. You can sit amongst the other customers or hide away in a little nook. Great place to read, write, work, study, and socialize. They also serve alcohol.
And perfectly selected background music. Not too loud and easy to listen to.
The have events like open-mic nights, you just have to check the calendar for what's happening.
The have a cute patio both in the front and the back of the cafe.
The owner is super cool and top-notch at customer service.
If I lived closer I would be here every day.
I HIGHLY recommend this place. Stop in, have a beverage and make a new friend. I did.

This iconic coffee shop is a necessary stop for me every time I'm in downtown Riverside. So many years of memories built here. Poetry open mics, events, on-tap beer, unique desserts and treats... Highly recommended.

Back to the Grind Coffee House is a unique and wonderful place to visit. The antique decorations and old-school library feel make for a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The coffee is absolutely amazing, and I always enjoy trying different flavors and blends.
The coffee house is also a great place to relax or get some work done, with plenty of seating options and a welcoming vibe. Don't forget to try the ice cream, which is a great value for the price and always delicious.
The food at Back to the Grind Coffee House is also top-notch, with some signature items that are always a treat to indulge in. Overall, I highly recommend Back to the Grind Coffee House for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable coffee house experience.

Love the aesthetics of this place. Quaint little place that sits in the heart of downtown riverside. We felt like we had stepped right into the scene of a movie. Not to mention they had vegan options for everything. The service was great the prices were average. I would highly recommend going to this coffee shop and I will also be returning to myself.

Been coming here for a couple of years sporadically and have never had a bad cup of coffee no matter what I have ordered. Today I had a double shot that did not disappoint. Stop in for the vibe and get a cup of coffee it hits the spot. Also very unique atmosphere.

Excellent coffee venue! A top-notch “real” coffeehouse! This place is cozy, unique, has character and great service! Nice breakfast offerings as well! I would say one of SoCal’s finest coffeehouses! They also host live music. Check their schedule.
