I am giving this place five stars because six is not an option. Chris (our waiter) what a class act! Thank you sir! The food though, as if the service could be topped, everything my wife and I had was absolutely delicious! This was an unscheduled stop while passing through but a memorable one nonetheless!

Soooo good! Our first time there was Tuesday morning. Around 10:30am. Not crowded. Love the calm atmosphere. The waitress was super friendly. Came by more than once to check on us. Food was amazing. Price is just right. The country potatoes were my favorite. Good cup of regular coffee, sugar, and cream. Parking lot filled up as we were leaving.

I can't say enough about this place!! Passing through area and found RJs on google for breakfast! Food was delicious!! Our waiter, Chris was top knotch and the bacon!! Best bacon I've ever had! Seriously!! Get the bacon!! Thanks for the recommendations Chris! I'd give this place 6 stars if I could!!

I'm not sure what has happened to this place. The new ownership? My order was incorrect, but I let that go. Things happen. But one would think that when a plate of food is untouched and put at the edge of the table for clearing, the waitress would ask if there were any issues. Nope. The egg salad sandwich is just a sliced hard-boiled egg with gobs of mayonnaise on plain white bread. No seasoning. Not even served with lettuce on the sandwich, which had to be requested, and it was wilted. The chicken and bacon ranch warp was a poor excuse for a wrap—low-grade stringy over-cooked bacon, mounds of wilted lettuce, in a cold tortilla with no flavor. The kid's special pancake is my son's absolute favorite when going here, and that wasn't even up to par. The grill/griddle needs to be clean when serving speckled black pancakes. Then the waitress stated that certain things (cheese and onion) were extra that was clearly printed on the menu as standard to the item (chili-size).
The waitress never asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. We had to get her attention for a drink refill. We had to flag her down to get the check. Literally, the table was cleared, and we were sitting there waiting. I want to say this is because they were busy, but that was not the case. She'd walk by the table and not say a word. Now on the best thing about the whole dining experience, remember that food that was not touched? I saw an employee come out from the kitchen area with the same food, sit for what looked like his lunch break, and eat that food. Now, I'm not upset he ate the food; good for him. It didn't go to waste. I am upset that I paid for that food and wasn't even asked if there was an issue. And you probably shouldn't have an employee eat someone's uneaten food next to them. The disappointment I experienced in one visit to this place is incredible. The customer service and quality of food have taken a hit. Just another hometown favorite going under.
A complete waste of $90 to leave hungry.

I'll try anything once, but I won't waste my money twice. Just another mediocre at best Porterville diner. For the amount I paid for one meal, I could have bought all the ingredients and cooked 5 better breakfasts myself. Why own a restaurant if you're not going put any effort into what you're cooking. Over salted potatoes, tasteless omelette, rotten avocado. One of the servers was taking up what seemed to be the best table in the joint to take a load off on her phone. Could have sat 6 people. Won't go again, or recommend it.

Loved our server but seemed expensive for what little we got. The waffle was gummy but I didn't want to send it back so I just left it on the table. Our server was a sweetheart. It makes me sad to say the only good part of our meals was the coffee and the music that was playing. I had high hopes but it wasn't what people hyped it up to be.

Excellent place to eat breakfast. I ordered the country style potatoes, eggs and bacon with a homemade biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was soo delicious and a meal in itself. The historical photos of Porterville on the walls are a nice touch for those interested in the history of the town as well. Great, friendly service as well. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Back in town for a week, from our home in Texas. I was able to make the Rodeo, and spend some money at other businesses in Porterville. Had breakfast at RJ’s this morning. Had the western omelette. The food and service were both good. I recommend supporting this business.
