A fresh new look and expanded space is a welcome vibe for this locally-owned coffee place and delicious eats. Lots of coffee and beverage selections along with a breakfast menu. The patio in back is a nice addition too. A great place for a quick business meetup or some online homework that is quiet and mellow music.

Excellent breakfast burrito and coffee. Peets teas, and MORE. Small place, but they do have an outdoor back patio space that's roomy. Popular and well worth the wait. Breakfast burritos DO have a medium to hot spicy salsa inside if you can't do spicy.

*our food came out 20 minutes before our drinks**
*An honest review* we love Steaming Bean! We’ve been coming here for 13 years. Our recent visit we ordered the Avocado Toast and it’s a very poor value. Do not order. Please see the attached pictures. It was not toast it was warm bread, there was so little avocado on it it was almost a joke. To add a few bits of tomatoes was an additional $1. For $5.95 it was a complete rip-off. The Mediterranean Scramble is only $3 more and it’s a platter of food, including more avocado than two Avocado Toasts combined (we actually checked). If you’ve ever made Avocado Toast at home you’ll see they use less than 1/4 of an avocado. The Mexican Mocha is AMAZING-highly recommend!
**the prices listed on the written menu are not what you get charged. i.e-Mediterranean Scramble is listed as $8.95 but rings up as $9.50. Guy working the register wouldn’t acknowledge or adjust the price. C’mon. It’s dishonest.

Dang! My almond milk latte was delicious! So happy haha. Thanks guys! Milk was silky, not too frothy, not too flat. Strong espresso flavor without tasting burnt or sour. Everything felt "smooth".

Staff seems chill, nice location, sunny deck out back with seating, good amount of room/seating inside, two clean bathrooms, easy & free parking on street.

We always come here every time we are in the area. It's near a park so it's nice to take our drinks and food and find a picnic spot near the waters to eat. Breakfast burritos are excellent. Coffee is ok. It's pricey, but that's how it is in these beach towns.

Found this little gem on the internet. One word, WOW! As a restaurant owner all I can is this was the BEST breakfast burrito I’ve EVER had. Service was EXCEPTIONAL! What a EXCELLENT experience. Till next time!

Nice, easy delicious breakfast menu... nothing fancy but very delicious food. The coffee is the real star of course! Great coffee.

Steaming Bean located on Shell Beach Rd, running next to Cabrillo Hwy.

The vibe here felt like a casual coffee shop. My drip coffee and muffin were perfect for the morning. I didn’t see any umbrella on the patio so be ready for some sun. Inside had good seating too. We met a nice patron who was passing through. Good convo with coffee.

I would recommend this place if you are in the area.

My wife and I visited with our dog (Oskar) but they can’t allow non-service dogs (must have papers). They hope to make changes in the future.

Wonderful food and excellent service! I had the veggie lovers sandwich and it was great! My partner had the Mediterranean Scramble and said it was a little plain but very light and fresh. We will back!

Perfect local coffee shop. I had the dark roast coffee ☕️, was delicious. Nice outdoor patio, not crowded, reasonably priced. Totally recommend.
