Place is usually always crowded but I recommend going during off hours. The egg noodles (soup on the side of course) is my personal favorite. It can get pretty crowded during lunch and the morning hours. Definitely not the best looking restaurant but the food is top notch

Although I have had their food many times before, this is the first time I have ate at the location. It is so much better than take out. It's a hole in the wall, it's cash only, and can sometimes have a line...but definitely worth it!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 20 years. It shows how much we love the foods here. Their famous dishes are fried fish cake, stir fried pig's kidney and noodles.

Been coming here for 25 years. Best Ho Fun in town. Try the beef satay or shrimp. The fish cakes are good too. And the lemonade is hand squeezed.

I came down to vien huong during lunch time. The server asked me if it was okay to sit with other people and I said that was fine. After waiting for 8 ish min without any service and seeing other people who were seated after me get served I decided to walk out. The food is good but the service is something else. As someone who doesn't call attention to themselves the experience was terrible and the workers should be more attentive esp since it was communal style. They should remember the people they seated etc.

The best combination won ton soup & chow me in in the entire Bay Area. My family has been coming here for over 20 years! I came here as a little kid & now I take my kids too.💜

No frills, it's faster if you're willing to share a table for small parties. I get rare beef with thick egg noodles and beef stew broth. My girl gets the chiu jow mein ho fun (I think lol).
IMHO their wavy/thick egg noodle is what I consider the standard of excellence that I judge other restaurants against. Ymmv but it's simple good food and hearty. Also I get the soda lemon to drink 😍

Came to visit again after many years. Food is as good as before.
Love this place and been going here since I was a kid. My all time fave is the chicken ho fun, dry style. Come before noon or they might sell out of chicken !

Family operated and everyone is nice. A hole in a wall place in Chinatown downtown oakland. Been coming here for 22 years now and food is always great. Cleanliness can be improved especially the bathroom.

I remember coming here as a kid. My go to dish is the chow jew ho fun, soup on the side. I like to top the noodles with hot oil, hoisin and pickled peppers. That soup on the side just cleanses everything.
The only thing I don't like is I always run into someone I know. Not a bad thing but damnit let me eat my noodles.
