The Cool Bean Cafe

A competent coffee place that's not a Starbucks in a hilly tourist town near Yosemite? Awesome! This place was a nice treat especially given it's so far from larger, metropolitan establishments. Their hazelnut mocha latte & cortado was great treat especially after hiking Half Dome. But what surprised me was how delicious their paninis were - the mozzerella was ozzing everywhere (in a good way). The service was excellent as well, they had made a mistake in our drink order but quickly fixed it & then offered the mistake as complimentary drink (works w/ me)! Honestly though, this place is a great spot - I would definitely reccommend it to you & others whenever in the area.

I definitely recommend the Bagel Sandwich! So delicious. It’s a Bagel with their house quiche, artichoke spread, and cheese all inside. I chose the spinach quiche with the everything bagel and didn’t regret my choices. I would have taken a photo but when I saw it I just had to eat it ;)

3 times I've come to this place and have been rudely mistreated or not served because I came just before closing. They could have easily made one more cup of coffee, instead they decide to shy away business instead of making money. Who closes any business at 1pm anyways??? What a joke.

After a week in Yosemite with lackluster coffee, we searched out our route back to Orange County for some of the good stuff.

Casey greeted us with a friendly smile and treated us like we were long time regulars. I learned that he roasts his own bean, and ordered the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe pour-over. It was fantastic!!! Exactly what I was hoping for. In all, our family ordered the Vanilla Latte, Chai Latte and a hot chocolate and all were reported as great!

Thanks for the great coffee and welcoming atmosphere Casey! I hope Oakhurst knows how good they have it with The Cool Bean Cafe!

Casey, Alyssa, and the staff are hospitable, friendly, and serve delicious, drinkable coffee. This is a perfect spot for travelers that want to feel like a local. Cool Bean Cafe participates in a fair trade supply chain and their pastries come from homemade recipes by Alyssa. A MUST STOP for anyone traveling to and from Yosemite.

The food is pre-made and tasted so so and they only warmed it up. It doesn’t worth the money. We went there because of the high rating but felt disappointed about the food, should have gone to McDonald for cheaper and more variety and probably fresher too.

Best coffee! Customer service is always above an beyond expectations. Cute quiet little spots to read or work, nice large outside eating area for socializing. Overall a lovely experience every time 🖤

Chile verde burrito was delicious and the Ethiopian pour over was top notch.

What a gem. This place has been an institution in Oakhurst for 15+ years, but the current owners continue to improve upon the business and make this the best coffee shop in the mountains. The Cool Bean is always my first stop when I am back in Oakhurst!

I absolutely love the Cool Bean Cafe. It is very cozy welcoming. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The people who work there are always friendly and helpful it has Wi-Fi. The restrooms are always clean. My only gripe is that there not open on Sunday. But thats ok. Even God had a day of rest.
