Philz Coffee

From the excellent, friendly baristas to the cozy study vibes, Philz is a place I frequent (a little too) often. I was taken aback when one of the baristas (which I have yet to get her name) remembered me and my order by the third time I visited the shop. Philz feels like a family-run business because of their intentional efforts to make each customer feel comfortable. Each coffee is made to order and if it's not to your liking, they're happy to adjust it. And their coffee is by far my favorite in LA (I always get Philtered Soul with light cream). Would definitely recommend Philz for a great study and hang-out spot! (hot tip: if you get a refill, they only charge a small for a large, so I always get two drinks heh).

Bomb. Never seen a coffee place like it. No espresso, just a wide selection of pour over brews. Not to say they don't have creamy drinks. The iced gingersnap had incredibly fresh spices in it. Place was packed on a mid afternoon work day.

I love Philz very much !!! Clean place. The staff was kind enough to explain us there menu. Coffees and teas are delicious. Chocolate croissants are my favorite. We be going again soon !!!

Pricey but good coffee - I find it tough to rationalize $8 for a cup of Joe but I never walk away from Philz thinking I’ve been ripped off.
Excellent choice of bean prepared by well groomed hip baristas. Usually plenty of seating options, gets very hot at the outside tables mid morning when the sun is out.

Great service and product. Very unique blends of coffee. Espresso is pulled properly so you won't have to deal with (St*rbucks) tar in a cup.

Philz is a brew coffee by the individual cup on demand. Rarely will you have a more aromatic, flavorful, and seductive cup. The beans are available to take home, but how many people have a perfect brewing set up in their kitchen.

I do wish they offered non paper cups. My only regret.

And they have avocado toast.

I expected a lot from Philz. There was a variety of coffee blends available overhead but no indication on sizes. Prices were not prominently listed either. The barista was rather rude and condescending. I left without ordering anything, will try another location some other time.

I love this place now and am wishing it was all over la!! We need more of them!! I saw things here I dont see anywhere else!! Anyway I came in today having a mad craving for coffee cake and ended up getting something new!! This never happens!! But the new thing was even healthy!! I loved having a healthy breakfast for once having the avocado toast!! Really good !! I look forward to coming back for breakfast again!! Also I cant write that about many places in la why we need more of them!! Hope u guys come to Hollywood and more!!

The coffee and tea were outstanding. The reason for 3 stars is due to the slow service and confusing ordering process they force upon their customers. It's unclear who will take your order, where you should stand in line to order, when you should pay, and where you will pick up your order. The flow is not natural or intuitive and makes customers feel like a bunch or morons because they go to the wrong place to perform the ordering/paying action. I'm sure the delicious drinks keep folks going back, but there should not be such a high learning curve to order a cup of joe.

This place is amazing. The cashier and barista were super nice. To the gentleman with the cyan color hair that made the iced mocha tesora, a thousand thank yous. The drink is amazing. 💖
