Amazing coffee, a really good atmosphere and vibe. Love that it has indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is always very helpful and gives great suggestions. Great spot and plenty of food options around it as well

I literally NEVER write reviews but this groundwork is great! My wife and I got a cappuccino and an espresso milkshake. The milkshake was not good, didn't taste like ice cream or espresso but the cap was perfect. It's a cozy little place to get some work done and conversate with the local artists.

Good coffee. I've been coming here for about a year now; their soy latte is reliably good, the wifi is great, and it's not too crowded.
Great place to work for an hour to get away from the office.

Fun fact: this location was a Novel Cafe for a couple years, but it's back to being a Groundworks now.

Enjoyed their beaans bought from stores for years so I was pleasantly surprised to find a brick and mortar shop in Arts District. Lucky Jack is described as medium roast but tasted like dark roast to me. It is good nevertheless. Pastry display looks delicious. Staff is very pleasant.

A large space with a big menu and loads of coffee, tea and juice options, the friendly staff will make your visit pleasant and worth the wait. Although crowds gather quick, if you can snag a table it’s a business friendly spot, with plenty of space to spread out and work. Outside seating is limited but dog friendly. Locals flock to this location in droves for a coffee or lunch break, making it a hot spot and an essential arts district coffee destination. The only downside is the sheer breadth of the menu, which seems spread too thin, in my view. Also quite pricy, but that’s no surprise in LA. Even still, the coffee and chai offerings are delicious and will satisfy your caffeine cravings. Check it out!

I consider this particular Groundwork location to be a great neighbor and an active part of the neighborhood. The workers are always friendly and the coffee is great. Groundwork in general is an L.A. institution, roasting coffee locally for decades. Great quality coffee at much more reasonable prices than some of the newer, trendier specialty coffee joints. The whole beans are a particularly good deal, often selling a full pound for less than what other places charge for 12 oz and on top of that, bean purchases come with a free drink! I am particularly a fan of the Viora lids they put on their paper cups... closest thing to the experience of drinking from a mug that you'll ever get from a paper cup. I haven't seen these lids anywhere else in L.A. or even Seattle for that matter.

More often than not, this is my morning go to for coffee. It's open earlier than most shops so I can get to work. Espresso drinks are great, they have a selection of non-dairy milks which is good for me because I generally prefer almond milk and there's a kitchen with with prepared grab-and-go things in a refrigerated Case by the register.

Sometimes the kitchen can be a little bit on the slower side but it's never been an issue where I couldn't get to work. I've had the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich here. Both are terrific. From the case I usually get the yogurt parfait. It's really nice to be able to come here early in the morning and grab something on the way into work because the only other option is Starbucks yuck.

Chill spot for a cold brew and a great atmosphere. The staff are nice! I came to buy some coffee beans, and they told us about a special promotion, you can get a free cold brew coffee when you buy a bag of their coffee beans. Great deal!

I've been wanting to swing by Groundwork a long time ago and finally decided to take the ride. I ordered an iced passionfruit tea (Yes, it's a coffee place but I had already had a couple cups before heading to this place) and it was good, not out of this world but good.

Staff were rude, they acted as if they really didn't want to be there. I understand they're allowed to just be themselves but man, they didn't greet us when we went in, they didn't care if we had any questions on what to order.

The restoom was filthy. The trash bin was packed with soiled paper, it smelled terrible and even asking for the code was uncomfortable.

The seating area on the back is comfortable, and the music selection was great!

Overall it's a place with a lot of potential, but, in my opinion, it's not even close to its ideal operation.

Nice, chill place if you can get a seat. We were there on a Sunday 10:30ish. Organic is the best and the gluten free pumpkin choc chip loaf was onolicious.
