Place is definitely what one would call "hole-in-the-wall". Went in and they were busy running around but were friendly and seated us right away. As we stood there though, we saw the french toast on the line and they looked divine. Ordered coffee (was decent), and the french toast combo. They do not have turkey or chicken sausage/bacon. They did substitute the bacon order with a piece of chicken. The french toast was delicious and as much as I wanted to eat them all, I just could not do it. Chicken was good as well. We complimented the chef of the french toast and the servers and cooking staff had a nice little banter which made the whole place laugh.
We parked on the main road and walked up, not sure if they have a parking lot. Prices are low as 2 orders of french toast combos and 2 coffees for less than $30, before tip. I did overhear they close at 2pm.
Lots of flies and chaotic but the food was good.

Delicious breakfast country skillet brought sizzling. So tasty and just amazing. My partner ordered the corned beef hash skillet and that was delicious too. Only a few tables (small place) but we only waited for tables to be cleaned off. First time to Kernville, CA so unsure how busy in busy season.

Always our go to place for breakfast when we visit Kernville. Carol is always pleasant and accommodating. And the food never disappoints. The BEST hashbrowns I ever get anywhere. Please note, the business hours have changed and they are now closed on Sundays and Mondays.

I've called little places like this "hole in the wall" since I was a young boy and they are the best places to eat. The Cracked Egg is no exception. Great food and wonderful coffee. Friendly staff welcome you and keep your coffee full.

UPDATE: May 5, 2023 evidently this place has gone out of business.
Great place for breakfast. Good food, good price. Quick service. Huge plate sized pancakes 🤤

This place is always a must go to when in kernville. Usually we go for their pancakes, but this time we went for lunch. My group ordered a bacon cheeseburger, half rack of ribs with potato salad and I got their shrimp in a basket with onion rings 😋😍. Everything is fresh to order. Oh and we got fried mushrooms and cheesy potato wedges for appetizers. Everything was delicious! I recommend their pancakes for breakfast. It's enough for 2 people.

Went for breakfast early in the morning with my doggy. Seated quickly outside wherever I liked. All staff was very attentive and polite. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was served picture perfect. It was as tasty as it looks. All of the dishes I saw come out to other tables looked yummy as well. Other patrons were also friendly. It was a nice breakfast. My service was great. I definitely recommend Cracked Egg Cafe.

Amazing breakfast spot! We stayed the night in the town and started the morning off with the most incredible breakfast: polish sausage skillet with avocado & the Dan the Man tri tip omelet, so delectable. Not pictured are the pancakes, side sausage patty, and enormous side of fresh baked biscuits w gravy. Definitely recommend!
Also: good location next to shops and galleries, plenty of free parking, cozy interior with table and counter seating, and very friendly staff :)

Love the atmosphere of this little cafe, and although it was a tight squeeze, they fit five of us on a little table which made it cozy and comfortable. My boyfriend came in for the biscuits and gravy and we were immediately told that they don't have anymore biscuits and gravy. LOL. Everybody else's order was fantastic. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, the French toast was devoured, and the sausage and bacon and ham were delicious. My order was that chili verde lunch burrito. First of all, tortilla was good but the burrito fell apart immediately. And the flavor was completely bland inside. Since the burrito fell apart and was impossible to try to pick it up I opened the burrito and was shocked to find maybe at the most 10 chunks of beef. This was a giant burrito that filled the length of a plate and to have such a little meat was a shock. If it was a good flavor I could have forgiven it but it was completely bland and the beans were even bland... But the biggest shock of it all was it was white rice in the burrito! And not even good white rice, it tasted like Uncle Ben white rice from the microwave package. Don't get me wrong I can eat Uncle Ben's rice if I doctored up, but this wasn't even doctored up. Tried to drown it with my empty tapatio container, but just ended up eating my remaining few chunks of meat and left the rest of the mess on the plate. You would think that their waitress would have asked was there something wrong with the meal considering this massive amount of food was all left there on my plate but I do understand she was alone and busy. I would go to this place again but I definitely wouldn't order anything off the Mexican side of the menu. Stick to what you guys do best guys.
