Authentic coffee shop located in downtown Grass Valley! Prices were reasonable, staff was friendly and the ambiance was perfect.

Great coffee, passable customer service. Asked how to buy the most recently roasted beans, was told " we roast all flavors multiple times a week" pretty sure that's a lie. Come on, everybody has one or two that are not so popular. The coffee I purchased, Guatemalan Antigua by the pound, was not that fresh. The coffee that was made in the store (pour over), French Italian was very fresh. The beans I purchased were not recently roasted, imo. Fresh roasted beans tend to "foam" and grow during the "bloom" of a pour over.

I have driven by this unassuming place M-F for 2 years, and stopped in at 7:50AM. The wonderful aroma of roasted coffee greeted me as I opened the door. Great historic building and feel inside this large shop; many goods and curiosities to explore, comfortable seating and tables for at least twenty. Great selection of drinks and noshing. they serve Chico Chai! big plus. Staff are friendly and expeditious. I will be back and recommend this place right off of highway 49.

I have been going to Carolines Coffee for over a year now. I love it! They have a huge selection of coffee. So, I'm always able to find something new and definitely something I'll enjoy. Today, I bought the Kona Fancy. At $30 a pound, I'm hoping it's tasty! But, I have never been disappointed.

Ok, so I LOVE independent coffee shops, but this one gets six stars if I could give them. Why? Because you can walk in and literally find the owner hand roasting their own beans. It doesn't get any fresher than this! And the love of the craft shines through with each carefully crafted cup, whether it's a plain cup o' Joe or an iced caramel latte with whipped cream. Go on, order up and have a life changing coffee experience!

The coffee there is the best in Grass Valley!
They roast their own beans and the staff is always friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Every time we are in town, this place is a must stop to buy coffee for our pour over at home.

Great espresso (had a triple, no adds). Fiancee loved her chai drink. If we are back in the area we will definitely be back again! Looking forward to trying the green roasted beans

Great coffee and a relaxed atmosphere to study or hang out. Love the baristas, they were both knowledgeable about drinks not on the menu and helpful. Definitely deserves a 5 star review.

Both my husband and I went here because of the ratings, because of my experience in this business (over 30 years Italian trained. NOT Starbucks trained... Original Italian Barista here)
If your are looking for an experienced made quality coffee don't go here you will be disappointed!
They use Torani syrups which are not gourmet status, the coffee was watery, terrible flavor, I felt like I received it from a fast food place, or from a machine with major bypass issues!
We paid over $12 for two coffees and threw them in the trash at Rite Aid parking lot!
