This is our 4th visit here to eat. The fish was overly cooked, and the spinach had too much salt. Noodles were amazing though and service was great.

One of the best date night restaurants in the North State. Great seasonal menu. Diverse wine list. Nice outdoor patio for summer and early fall. Highly recommended. Reservation recommended.

Food was great as always. We were somewhat rudely asked to walk around town or go get a drink up the street when we arrived 15 minutes early. We noted multiple tables available at the time, and did not note them being occupied when we returned to be seated or later. We understand new ownership has just taken over.

First time at cafe maddalena. Took my wife and our baby there for mothers day dinner. First thing we noticed is all the tables had paper over the table cloth and the tables were padded. It felt like eating off a bed in the doctors office. Service was ok. Waitresses were attentive. We ordered cream of asperagus soup ( It was pretty good) and the pesto pizza for an appitizer. Pizza was not that good. I had ordered the steak and my wife ordered the pork belly. ( the two most expensive dishes)The glazes on the meats were good. But the pork belly was tougher than it should have been. And the steak was rare instead of medium rare like i ordered. The steak came with a sauce that had no flavor, french fries that were alright, and four pieces of asparagus that also was flavorless. The pork belly came with mashed potatoes that was good but had spinach on top that was over cooked and too salty. All together we paid $139 with tip for a meal i could have easily cooked at home. I expected much more quality and flavour for the price. Also the portions were very small. My wife would not ear her pork belly and that is a dish she usually likes. Not sure why most of the reviews were 5 stars.

A dream as always. Reliable excellent food and steady attentive service by kind staff. New ownership has not changed anything about the menu, the setting the service. Good outdoor dining in summer months, although watch out for no seeum mosquitoes.

A classic wine and dine experience in the historic town of Dunsmuir. Was amazed by their salad and pasta.

I got the swordfish and it was amazingly cooked. It tasted fresh and moist, the appetizers were great, and the servers helped me decide on a wine to go with as I don't not often try wine. All in all, everything was perfect and I will be making a reservation for my birthday.
