Cold Rush Cafe

Great spot for delicious coffee, snacks, ice cream, and a small food selection. The lavender latte is my new favorite, perfectly balanced. They have a ton of grab and go snacks and their breakfast sandwich is huge.

The market in the back has a varied selection of things perfect for a picnic. Tons of cheeses, tasty crackers and snacks, plus local honeys and schwag. They also have soaps and shampoos if you need it.

We had a wonderful breakfast here the morning after Thanksgiving. Michelle welcomed us with a big smile and made us the most delicious avocado toast and panini. She even made us some apple slices with warm caramel sauce. So yummy!! The coffee was excellent too 😌

If your lucky she might add the apples and caramel. Yum! Don’t forget to check out their little shop in the back, it has perfect gifts for your loved ones.

We went to cut down a Christmas tree and decided to stop for lunch. It was close to closing but Kevin couldn’t have been more welcoming. He made us wonderful sandwiches, but it was his warm personality that made the visit so great! I highly recommend this place. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but definitely great food and service. Thank you Kevin for making our day even better!

What a magical little gem in such a picture perfect historic scenery! We came in on our journey to find a Christmas tree! What an amazing crew they have working here and Michelle!! My goodness what an amazing spirit and story teller she is! Living in downieville her whole life she has the stories told from the heart even our smallest little one were in awe of her skill to tell the history and juggle our orders! We all just enjoyed her spirit and attentiveness.. she found us aap even to get back on track to finding our perfect tree in the forest! Downieville has now become my new favorite place that I will be sure to make it to each and every year. Hopefully more than just once a year for my family!. Their sandwiches and avocado toast was beyond just yummy they were healthy and energizing. Their hot chocolate and mochas reminded me of sees candy when I was a young child. I loved every moment stopping their with our family! And Michelle definitely made us feel at home and happy to have stopped!

It was a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride to Downieville…we were greeted by Michelle who works at the cafe and we were pleasantly surprised by all the wonderful choices on their menu, and Dave prepared a great breakfast sandwich and I really enjoyed the fresh brewed iced tea! Michelle thanks for the great hospitality…

It sure is chilly outside! Thank you Kevin for my delicious Lavender Latte that warmed my soul. It's always great to see that handsome barista in Cold Rush making amazing coffees and carrying wonderful conversations.

Great food, coffee, and service!
We stopped here on our way down from the mountains and are so happy we did! Downieville is such a cute little town and Cold Rush makes a great addition to it!
We got some lattes and the steak and egg breakfast sandwich which was delicious! On top of that the service is incredible and everyone working there was so friendly. We will be back next time we are in Downieville!

Waited for our to go sandwiches for over 30 mins, while people who came in after us got their sandwiches before us. and the prices for coffee are way too much for what it is, my latte did not taste like I paid $8 for it :/
