Cal Java Coffee Esplanade

Picked up sandwiches for lunch and they rocked. Quiet little shop tucked in a building across from the hospital. If my girlfriend didn't recommend we go there I would have never know they were even there. Fast service and friendly service. I had the bbq pastrami. Excellent sandwich. My girlfriend had a grilled cheese. She swears they are the best grilled cheese sandwiches in Chico. I was way too hungry for pictures.

I went to Cal Java on the Esplanade in Chico, because I started working in the area recently. I had one of their Fit Mochas and sausage breakfast sandwich, they were both very good, and the service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I have been very disappointed lately customer service in general going down hill, all over. One of the young ladies who worked there told my they also served lunch, so I went back at lunch time to try it. I got the Soup & Salad combo, with a drink, the soup was their Loaded Potato, and the salad was the Asian salad. The soup was delicious, the salad was good except it was a little spicier than I am used to. I definitely will go back.

Great quaint coffee shop!! Owner is friendly and attentive! Good selection of healthy snacks, as well as for eating in or taking out!

I go here every Saturday before I go to work. Coffee and a pesto egg sandwich. Tastes great and Bobby is always nice. 👍

Don’t get the croissant it’s a rip off. All bread no ham and cheese. Drinks are good

Really can't rate as I was in another part of same building. But it was clean, had out do sitting and people seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Great service, good coffee, surprisingly good food. Very convenient location if you are coming from the hospital.
