Lovely setting in a Bodega Bay. You are close to the ocean, but it's not an ocean front restaurant, so you can't get an ocean view table. Food is very flavorful and nicely presented. Great service from our waitress! Seating is quite tight, a bit loud, you can clearly hear conversations from next to you tables. Limited and tight parking.

This delightful gem has become a holiday tradition for a small group of friends. We look forward to dining here at the end of the year to celebrate all the good things. Their menu is such that I would happily eat my way through the appetizers, a nibble at a time (we always order several and share, and then the main courses... oh yum. The owners are wonderful, and the wait staff is charming and attentive. Worth every penny.

Awesome staff, made special vegetarian stuff for us, the food is off the charts, it's a Michelin Star restaurant. The desserts were amazing as well. It's truly Oasis of awesomeness in this small quaint town ! (The owners are restauranters from bay area)

I never review a place mid-meal and rarely review in general however I was so impressed with the food and the service that I had to do it. What we did was turned the rather long appetizers into a tapas list and ordered most of them. The oysters were top notch, the crudo was quite good as were the scallops and the braised short rib pasta is amazing!

Once again a wonderful meal well served. Michelins downgrade is hard to understand though it may be related to the fact that only 5 entrees are offered but each turns out fantastic and shows individual chef attention. Two of us had the seabass and I had the duck (perfect again) Andrew runs a perfect kitchen and makes one feel perfectly home

I asked the waitress for the best possible combination to give me the best experience and boy did she deliver. I started with the octopus salad which was unconventional, as I had never had tentacles mixed with greens. It is safe to say that this is one of the best salads I've ever had. I uncovered secret cauliflower and brussel sprouts during the journey and whatever kind of vinaigrette they used tied it all together like the rug in The Big Lebowski.

I had the duck breasts medium rare, and was very surprised at the deliciousness of it all. The skin was perfectly crispy and sprinkled with sea salt which really brought the flavor to life. It tasted more like perfect filet mignon than duck.

To finish I got some sort of coconut flan thing I'm still not sure what it was with some kind of seeds in there. It was freaking super delicious topped with mint and all sorts of delicate juices and creams.

Not only was the food great but the service was excellent as well. Our waitress suggested the perfect meal and we left satisfied. We will be coming back.

I'm going to preface this by saying that my wife does not eat meat outside of the house which reduced her choices of what to eat down to the sea bass. She said it was OK. Our server, while attentive, did not seem to be excited to be there. I had the pork chop which was very good. We also had the hamachi appetizer. I loved it, my wife thought it too was just OK. I rarely pay $100 for just my wife and I so when I compare the price to my wife's saying it was "OK" I have to go to the middle star point. However, it may have been that I just picked the wrong restaurant for my wife.

The Rib eye, scallops, and carrot cake were excellent! We had takeout last night and will be going back tonight to try some more treats!

So this review is for The Rest.

So for those of you who don't know that is the restaurant downstairs. You need to reserve it separately and it is very small. Really odd decor which adds to its charm. Downstairs is quite pricey while the upstairs is inexpensive, so know what you are going for.

The decor is really cool. Kind of noir blended with a detective movie crossed with someone who got a little creative on the pills. Really cool though and a neat experience to take people to. Menu has enough options to meet most peoples needs.

I love the craft cocktails which are always great and unique but a bit brutal. Also Open table puts a 40 dollar hold on your card if you don't show up you are out some serious cash. So if you reserve a table you better show up. Small place so I understand not having someone come could really put a dent in sales.

Waiters have always been super nice though some times a little on the arrogant side. The menu knowledge was great! The server was able to rattle off pretty much anything I wanted to know instantly. I had their chicken and it was incredible, buttery and amazing fried chicken. We had a few apps and although small were very tasty.

I would say somethings to improve would be cocktail prices are a bit steep even for generic requests. Also take down some of the 'tude on the food when speaking with people who are simply trying to grasp some of the unique ingredients and such. All in all, still a great place with a really cool vibe give it a go.
