We couldn’t get a dinner reservation but happened to drive by while they were serving lunch. It might have been the best lunch I’ve had. We had the oysters, scallops, charred octopus salad and a lobster roll. It was all incredible. I’m just slightly heartbroken I couldn’t order the duck that is on the dinner menu. Looks like we’ll have to come back to Bodega Bay soon.

Fantastic! Yummy salad, excellently cooked duck breast and steak. And their take on carrot cake was light and not too sweet.
Top notch meal and one of the few restaurants open in the area on a Thursday!

Terrapin Creek is a cozy little restaurant, warm colors and pleasant art, with intimate tables spaced just far enough apart that you have some privacy. The staff are helpful and attentive. The wine-by-the-bottle list is extensive, in contrast with a more spartan menu (with drinks, it barely fills a page). Nevertheless, the fare is varied, end though it isn't noted on the menu, our server was quick to inform us that the kitchen would be willing to work on something special if we had vegan, vegetarian, or other dietary restrictions (for reference, all the entrees and most of the appetizers were meat or fish based).
The crudo of hamachi, squash soup, and shaved salad were excellent, especially with the superlative house seeded-sourdough. The porkchop was similarly delicious, and the cheesecake was divine. If you find yourself near the coast for dinner, test yourself to this wonderful hidden gem. I would recommend calling to be sure you have a table waiting for you (and not use the OpenTable app).

I have mixed feelings about this place. The service is friendly and attentive, no issues there. The wine list is on the expensive side but the wines by the glass have been well chosen and are excellent. The menu is small but interesting with use of local ingredients, just as I like it. The desert at $10 is not overpriced. The ambience is fine but it can be a little noisy.
We came for our anniversary and had a cocktail to start, not bad but only one choice of gin for my martini. The starters (scallops and a salad) were not that elegant and just ok. My duck was slightly over-cooked and the accompanying vegetables a bit of a miss mach. My wife’s salmon was fine but not special. The chocolate desert was lacking chocolate.
All in all I came away being disappointed with the price ($200) versus the presentation and tastiness of the food.
More attention needed to how individual foods taste and combine as well as much improved presentation.

We’ve eaten at Terrapin Creek 4 or 5 times now and it’s always a wonderful experience. Fabulous service and atmosphere and absolutely delicious food and wine.

This restaurant was a fabulous experience all throughout. As you walk in, it may not greatly stand out as a fancy place, but every aspect of dining here was phenomenal. Starting off with the appetizers, my family got the fresh oysters, the yellowtail, and a couple of salads for the table. Each dish provided a huge variety of flavor and was absolutely delicious. However, the winner of the appetizers would have to be the fresh oysters. Then for the entree, I got the duck breast. The duck was cooked perfectly; very tender and succulent. Can confidently say one of the best duck dishes I have ever had. One thing that also impressed me was the presentation of each plate; each one came out as if it was prepared to be presented in front of a judge on a cooking show. Service was also moderately fast and very friendly. Overall an outstanding experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a dining option in the Bodega Bay Area.

Holy smokes, where have you been my whole life, can't tell you how many times I've driven through Bodega- starving, not wanting to be in line with the tourist with their clam chowder and fried fish, just not me thing. The nice woman (Dannille at Sonoma coast winery) turned me on to this place. WOW, now all look forward to on my way back home to Sea Ranch is to stop off at Terrapin- you will not be disappointed, great service, good food- the duck is out of the park good.. Cheers

Phenomenal food. Worth the wait (30 min to sit) and dollar. If you don't want to wait take out is fine. Foods fantastic. I had the pork chop.. juicy, crab cake.. crispy and the carrot cake melts in your mouth. Staff and cooks super friendly. Now Go!
