Nice store, bad customers. The one eyed lady body shames women and an old man that forces you to give up your seat to listen to his CDs. Staff need to really try to keep the environment more friendly from these rude folk.

I always enjoy reading/looking at the collection of memorabilia in their museum room :)

Las Hermosas was really weak . Not sure if the Peet is watering down the coffee again or it’s just the blend. Service is very good.

A million reasons I love Peet's. The absolute best coffee anywhere. Usually busy but they handle it well. Great snacks too!

But it all depends on the barista's skill and the store. The original Vine St store is pretty consistent in quality with some outdoor sidewalk seating...local hangout for decades for some who are now gray haired...a nice location, but parking can be challenging. Walk there if you can.
Several good quality boutique stores nearby and Gourmet Ghetto's sought after eateries .
The Shattuck downtown store is a different environment...and they always have an insufficient amount of chairs. There you have to have a code for the bathrooms.
More street people around, virtually no parking but a hop , skip and a jump from downtown BART stn. With Berkeley's downtown at your doorstep, including 2 3 movie theaters!
The Solano Ave Peets continues to be ,a good place to stop over for a relaxing cup. Recently remodeled there's ample seating inside and on the extra wide sidewalk there. Lots of shops and eateries nearby.
Finally, the Telegraph Ave site....pkg again a chore so best for walkers. Cal student area including student oriented casual eateries and shopping. Very little left of Telegraph of the 60's...this Peets is fine..again, coded bathrooms as this area is part of the street culture hub..

Cannot fault Peers #1, especially in these Covid days when I'm seeing standards slip as profit margins erode. Consistent quality matched by consistent baked goods and, I have to add, a consistently-courteous staff.

This is a local icon: the very first Peet's ever. In addition to the great coffee you'd expect from a Peet's, it has some memorabilia and good seating to relax or work.

Still the best in America. Excellent traditional cappuccino! Alfred Peet's original store on Vine and Walnut, appropriate that it is katty-korner from the Berkeley Friends (Quaker) Meeting house, as coffee is so often the beverage over which friendships are grown! #kahvehkahveh #coffee #espresso #cappuccino
