Cafe Smitten

Cute cafe we stopped at driving back through to SF. Food was delicious, service was great, and loved the decor. My girlfriend and I felt welcomed.

This is the best cafe! They have a great menu with lots of choices for vegan/vegetarian eaters. The coffee is delicious and the outdoor patio is delightful. I highly recommend this cafe.

This place was amazing! Was on a road trip and needed to stop in Bakersfield for food. The coffee and tea were delicious and the Greek eggs were amazing. The outdoor seating ambience was nice and the staff was very kind and helpful. Would 100% recommend!

A nice "modern" cafe, tucked away in downtown. Definitely be back again.

The service was good, And place had a comfortable vibe to it. I had a bowl with Quinoa And it did not dissapoint. Now the dessert I had was a big let down. It was a Mexican chocolate pie. It literally tasted like cocoa powder and crisco hardened up and served on a pie shell. I normally enjoy all desserts but come on, that was soo badit shouldn't even be served to customers. Other than that the place was a nice spot and good food.

Best cafe I've found in California on this trip! Superior coffee, the food is tasty and interesting, and the service was fab. Thanks Cafe Smitten!

I asked the employee if there is a way to order the cookies online with food that is ordered and paid for online so that when I pick up my food that I ordered online I don’t have to spend 10 minutes in line waiting to purchase a cookie. This defeats the purpose of ordering and paying for food online. She said that she didn’t know because she’s never ordered their food online. I’m asking her because she’s an employee. I’m not asking a customer. She should ask someone else that works there to get an answer for me. And she could at least pretend to care that I waited in line 10 minutes for a cookie after picking up my food that I ordered online. Also, I noticed that a lot of the employees have their hair pulled back but they have very long bangs, not pulled back with the rest of their hair, hanging down over their face. I have only noticed that hairstyle at this restaurant and in the 70’s. Is that the Cafe Smitten dress code?

I love the decor! It's so cute and inviting. The staff welcomed me first thing. Their menu is what I would call 'fancy cafe'. I had the schnitzel sandwich and a iced latte. Both were amazing! I did have to wait as they were very busy, but the people at the counter made sure to update me as my order was worked on.

My favorite spot to stop at on my SF-LA commute. Food & physical space are A+ with plenty of free parking. Unfortunately the coffee is weak - tastes more like flavored water than coffee. But still worth the drive.

First time, food was good and served quickly. The inside-outside patio looks really nice. Very chill quiet place.
