Always great coffee not too sweet. If you are looking for a sweet drink I recommend the mocha. Pies are yummy! My favorite Earl grey tea pie for those who don't like super sweet. Those who like sugar sweet the s'mores pie.

Busy but service is fast. Super cute decor and atmosphere. And the pastries are delicious. I am hooked on the Mexican chocolate pie holes. And the lavender latte(YUMM) is something else! 😍

I didn't get any food I think it's mostly vegan but the matcha latte was amazing and beautiful 😍

Delicious! We stopped hear on our cross country road trip. Great service! I ordered the delicious Caesar salad and added tuna + got matcha with almond milk! 👌🏼

Perfect place if you want to enjoy your breakfast or coffee,lunch in peace. Amazing breakfast.

The Moroccan eggs here were absolutely delicious. I wish I had more bread so I can dip into the sauce. Definitely a must-order. The drinks are okay/decent; nothing to brag about

Staff members are very friendly and attentive. Service isn't as fast, especially the food, but I'm not complaining because their entrees were fantastic.

Atmosphere- 5 stars
Great place for large group gatherings, one on one meetings, or studying. Contemporary cafe decor that feels very warm and neat. You're paying a premium on the drinks because of the atmosphere.

Value- 3 stars
It's a trendy cafe spot, so don't expect a great value here.

Bottom Line
Great atmosphere and food makes Cafe Smitten one of my favorite cafes in Bakersfield. Coffee/tea just okay IMO.

I will always support this decision. The owners are absolutely kind, invested in the community, and also and giving their customers wonderful experience with great atmosphere if you want a solid cortado then this is the place to go.

Vegan burrito is insane good. Black coffee, americano and oatmeal are also tasty, but you’re coming here for the vegan burrito. Wish they had gluten-free options, but otherwise a great spot!

Stopped in Bakersfield for a bite to eat on our way home to Napa Valley from Colorado. Found Cafe Smitten! What a gem!! I found vegetarian choices! The portobello sandwich was delicious!! The back patio is charming and dog friendly!
