Cafe Smitten

I walked into here thinking it was going to be a overpriced millennial vegan nightmare. It WASN'T. Super clean from the side porch to the cute back patio. Bright and airy indoor dining area. I was worried about the food with its vegetarian forward menu, but they didn't forget about us carnivores with its steak sandwiche, which is what I got. I also got the iced green tea while waiting for food. It was light, delicious, and refreshing. The food was brought out and it was amazingly presented. The food was just as good as it looked. The food was correctly priced. I wish there was one closer to me. Will go again.

This was unexpectedly delicious given we were driving through and it was a quick stop. The menu struck me as a bit of odd pairings, but every item was majorly yum. If in the area I would go out of my way to visit this cafe; although next time I'll make my way out to their back patio beauty which I didn't notice till after we ate.

I love cafe smitten great customer service and the salads are delicious and try the lemonade with mint my mom get the tuna sandwich 🥪 it's good recommendations to dine or take out

Finally! We come through Bakersfield every other year and it’s always been hard to find a good cup of third wave style coffee. Now there is Café Smitten... a super trendy spot downtown serving Counter Culture Beans and doing an excellent job. Highly recommend for a stop by for coffee, snack or some great lite bites. Americano and Latte were both on point and the atmosphere is welcoming for families. Great outdoor sitting areas. Check it out and enjoy!

My favorite cafe in Bakersfield. Amazing cappuccinos and black coffee. The Moroccan eggs were splendid and so was the croissant.

Great service and great food. Very fast and friendly, as apposed to Locale restaurant down the street. The set-up is welcoming and decor is well executed. Definitely coming back.

I so much wanted to give this place 5 stars. The atmosphere was great, the girl who took our order was not friendly, and just seemed to not care about customers dining experience. The cook was so polite, and friendly though. The eggs were overcooked, and potatoes were cold, but, the cook made it right, by redoing the order.
There was, two guys there, with their phone ridiculously loud, and the server/hostess/"girl who took our order" wasn't bothered by it, even after 2 other customers walked in, then right out because of them. The drinks were ok. The same hostess told another family, who asked for drink recommendations, that they "have a buncha of different syrups to choose from". Also, the prices were to there, but, kinda worth it.

Great coffee, excellent service, and coffee cake so good it's probably illegal in some states. These folks took an old decrepit building and turned it into a really cool establishment. This is, without question, the coolest coffee shop in Bakersfield. I'll be going back!

Delicious food with friendly attentive service and a chill atmosphere. And the best coffee I've had in Bakersfield. Will definitely come back

Above and beyond service. I spilled my coffee and went to get a towel to clean it up. Guy behind counter handed me a new cup and said don't worry about I got it covered.
