Cafe Smitten

I am gonna say this place is perfect...for me at least. A variety of comfortable, clean seating options with thoughtful outlets built in the benches. Everything is thoughtful here. Outback has a chill garden vibe with water fountain and music. Fantastically friendly staff. And food so real - healthy, yummy and made there. I stayed for lunch and dinner while I worked. Just in town for a short time. Smitten please move to my neighborhood!

Quality of food:
I tried the Greek Style Eggs and they were great. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy texture around the edges. The tomatoes were fresh and gave the dish a nice tangy bite. There was a little cheese in the pan it really rounded off the flavors altogether.

Dining experience:
The service was great and the food arrived relatively quickly. I love the vibe of this restaurant, it definitely is a great place to brings friends or family for breakfast. I heard they play live music in the patio pretty regularly, so I'll definitely be back to see how that is.

Pricing:
The pricing was reasonable, I think I paid about $15 bucks for the Greek Style Eggs and a cup of coffee. The eggs came with 2 large slices of bread, and a side dish of olives, pickles and fresh cucumber salad. I definitely feel like I got my money's worth. The black coffee was REALLY good too!

Recommendations:
I'd say try the Greek Style Eggs, on top of it being delicious, it's Keto friendly (just don't eat the bread). It was very filling and satisfying. If you're into black coffee, I really liked the pour over and the drip style coffee.

Comfortable but classy is how I'd summarize my time at Cafe Smitten. I ordered the Schnitzel and got the free water. For the price it was a very big and satisfying sandwich. Eating inside was great, music was familiar but not obnoxious and there's options for outdoor seating which makes the small exterior betray it's spacious seating arrangements. The wait was hardly there and staff were welcoming and accommodating.
Highly recommended.

I've visited cafe smitten twice now and have fallen in love with the vegan burrito! It's packed full of food and soooooo tasty. Toddler approved, too!

The cashiers were very friendly both times and accommodating of dietary restrictions. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent! Great cappuccinos and berry crumble. I also loved the vegan sandwich (I am not vegan). Have them make it into a panini for you. Great service every time also.

Please open another location in Porter Ranch (LA area), where I live permanently. :-)

Just what the doctor ordered. Coffee perfect, breakfast burrito the bomb. They even threw in the Cholula packets without my asking. So happy with it, I might go back for lunch.

Cute little cafe with a decent menu. I had the mushroom and cheese omelet and my friend had the breakfast burrito. Both were very good. It was nice and cool inside. Very casual. It looks like there is outside patio seating as well.

Great atmosphere. Love the side patio and fire pit hangout in the back. Coffee is consistently strong and flavorful. Food is unique and flavorful. Service is fantastic. The owners work with the rest of the employees and are very nice.

Complainers don't know how to order, or are trying the more obscure stuff just to nitpick. Parking is a bit of a pain, but that's not a Cafe Smitten issue as much as a downtown Bakersfield issue.

Awesome things are going on in downtown Bakersfield, and Cafe Smitten is just the start.
